Solo shoots are assessed against a set criteria based on aspects that are known to be important to Customers, and make interesting and engaging shoots.
One of the Solo assessment areas is Number of distinct thoroughly-explored poses at highest level; exploration depth; amount of shoot at highest level. In conversation, we shorten this to Posing level %.
To be assessed as acceptable, it is required that eight unique poses are covered in-depth at the model’s highest posing level. Selecting eight unique poses is one element, but the highest Posing Level percentage will only be achievable if those eight poses are each explored in depth. Thorough exploration depth will ensure that enough of the highest Posing Level content appears in the final edited shoot.
Content captured is one factor in determining the Posing Level percentage, but media that is repetitive or dull will be removed during the editing process. This means that SPs make sure they are exploring multiple aspects of each pose, giving customers a deep understanding of the model’s form.
Each shoot will offer unique things to be explored within each pose (due to the model’s flexibility, body shape, and the setting), but there are some universal approaches to exploring a pose in depth that can be used in all cases.
- Deeply exploring a pose using the camera
- Deeply exploring a pose by adding an activity
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Actively use suitable Props
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Strongly fetish- and SUBA-based
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Clothing used effectively
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Conversation exposes model’s unique personality(video only)
Deeply exploring a pose using the camera
In-depth exploration of a pose with a camera is where we show customers how the model looks within that pose, from several angles, across several lens lengths.
-
Wide shots (all of model in frame, hair, fingers, toes)
- From the front – camera at same eye-level as the model
-
From the side
- One side is enough, unless the view is notably different
- From further around the side (if light allows, and there are new details to be appreciated)
-
With the camera lower than the model’s face, looking up
- Particularly useful for OL, EXP and INS posing levels as this often offers a clear view of the vulva and anus
-
With the camera above the model’s face, looking down
- Can make it difficult to see anus and vulva not suitable for OL, most useful for NDE and EXP perhaps INS
- Over the model’s shoulder, to show her point of view (if the light allows 360° movement around her without CSP casting shadows, or flat light)
-
Mid-shots (around half of the model in frame)
- From the front – camera at eye level of model
- From the front – camera at same eye-level height asof model
-
From the side
- One side is enough, unless the view is notably different on either side
- From further around the side (if light allows and there are new details to be appreciated)
- With the camera lower than the model’s face, looking up
- With the camera above the model’s face, looking down
-
CUs and XCU shots (focussing on key areas)
-
Showing key features of the highest posing level
- For NDE – pubic area
- For OL – labia and anus
- For EXP – spread labia and or anus
- For INS – something inserted inside the vulva and or anus
- If visible and practical, a CU’s of fetishes is always appealing content
-
Showing key features of the highest posing level
Not all of these shots need to be captured for each of the eight poses, but some should be selected for each to contribute to exploring that pose deeply.
For EXP and INS poses, it is fine to shoot a sequence of up to four images showing the model spreading her labia from only-just-open to wide-open and showing a finger or object going all the way in and coming back out.
A clothed example of deeply exploring a pose using the camera
A message from Masie the Trainer;
On a real shoot, the model would be nude and the framing would be more crotch orientated than in these examples, as showing the models naked crotch is a requirement of all four highest Posing Levels but as the Trainer, I felt it would be appreciated if I demonstrated the principles with my clothes on 😊 🤣

CU and XCU shots
14 images, each bringing different value, were captured of the model in this Sitting Pose, simply by changing the position of the camera. To ensure all 14 images made the final edit, other things would also need to change between images. SPs should be mindful of directing models hands, legs and facial expressions to change between images for example, alongside directing bigger changes such as adding in activities described below.
Deeply exploring a pose by adding an activity
Models should explore several Activities within a Solo shoot – they add variety, interest and help customers learn about the model as an individual, while exploring her physicality.
Below, is Natalie R in a standing pose. The SP asked the model to turn around on the spot to cover more aspects of her body (excellent work – this is often requested by customers, and is so simple to shoot!), while using a longer lens to ensure no distortion of her body.
This is good Pose depth exploration (this shoot is at the Nude Only Posing Level), but there’s plenty more – all this was done before adding in some Activities, to enable deeper exploration.
Climbing a low tree (Always consider health and safety!) is a great way to engage different groups of a model’s muscles at the same time, while exploring her personality – and exploring a pose in depth. Climbing a tree is a playful and sometimes challenging thing to do and should lead to real reactions and facial expressions (great).
The model later revisits Standing Pose by running. Running is an Activity best covered in video where motion is visible but fine for one or two images.
In Natalie R’s Solo Standing Pose is covered simply and also with two different Activities. This keeps the action engaging and interesting and resulted in twelve Wide-Frame images in the final edit at the NDE posing level.
Some Activities, such as tree climbing and running, do not require props but often Activities used for exploration of a pose in-depth layer well with assessment area Actively use suitable props.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with “Actively use suitable Props” assessment area
If a model is in a position where she has her hands free, she can interact with a prop. This works especially well for shoots with the highest Posing Level of NDE or OL, where casual prop use as well as feature prop use, is easily possible at the highest Posing Level.
- She might put up her hair with a hair tie, in an NDE pose
- She might clean her glasses while in an OL pose
- She might use her hair clips to pull back her pubic hair into an EXP pose
- She might insert a dildo in an INS pose
Repeating the same prop use in every pose at the model’s highest Posing Level is not appropriate, the content will become too similar and will be simply discarded during the editing process. The one exception to this is the model using the same dildo for INS if she only owns one, however even in that instance, the model should also explore the INS posing level using her fingers to add in variety.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Strongly fetish-based assessment area
Some Fetishes, rely on model’s having certain physical features – for example to explore foot fetish a model needs neatly groomed and well cared-for feet.
Other fetishes are things that can be done with any model – such as upskirt tease. When layering fetishes with exploring a highest Posing Level pose in-depth , SPs need to consider which fetish pairs best with which pose and indeed which Posing Level.
While the above image is strong, there is a risk of it back-firing…
Some layering can create issues. If a model is doing EXP or INS, the focus is on the models touching and exploring her vulva and anus. Simultaneously exploring a fetish around another part of her anatomy pulls customers focus. This creates conflict for the SP, where do they focus the camera lens? This could lead to a reduction in highest posing level percentage.
For this reason, its better to explore (for example) breast content for NDE or OL shoots and explore fetishes around a model’s pubic region for EXP and INS. That does not mean models in EXP and INS shoots should not have their breast stimulated, but just not fetishised so the focus (as in the example image of Simona, above), can remain with the highest Posing Level.
OL Posing Level shoots include shots where the camera is focused on a models vulva and anus, but because those areas cannot be touched, focusing only there could get dull, so after getting a CU shot in each pose, bring in other appealing model features, such as a model’s breasts, legs, buttocks, etc.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with “Clothing used effectively” assessment area
Layering assessment area Clothing used effectively with the highest Posing Level is a great way to add variety and newness to a highest posing level pose. Clothing use can be utilised to isolate different body parts and to add in some creative fun.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with “Conversation exposes model’s unique personality” Assessment area
A model who is verbally engaging is unlikely to be edited down. Therefore ensuring that a model has interesting and engaging things to speak about within highest posing level poses is a must!
Emotion Over Time / Layering
The first time customers see a model in a new pose at her highest Posing Level, they are excited and pleased through the mere fact it is a new pose – a new chance to see the model, in a new presentation for the first time.
SPs capture each pose “simply” to begin with, nothing more is needed to engage Customers and it allows Customers to see the model in the pose with no distractions. As the “novelty starts to wear off”, SPs add in different “Activities” (see above), repeating the same camera exploration they did when they first presented the position – eg, Wides, Mids and CUs.
An example of a deeply explored pose might go like this:
The model puts her panties on over her breasts (Clothing use). The SP has a model sitting on the sofa doing an EXP pose. This is shot simply for Wides Mids and CUs, deeply exploring a pose in her highest Posing Level.
The model opens her makeup bag (Active prop use) and pulls out a makeup brush, which she brushes along the inside of her thigh before pressing the end to her clitoris – holding her labia open with her other hand.
Note how this “layers” several Solo shoot Assessment Area requirements, in the one video segment:
- Assessment area: Clothing used to heighten sexiness
- Assessment area: Pose variety and exploration depth at highest level
- Assessment area: Actively use suitable props
With a little planning, some other assessment areas could also be included in this same sequence:
-
Strongly fetish-based
- Consider what fetishes might apply – what if this was glimpsed up her skirt? Or her large breasts were emphasised by the Clothing Use?
-
Adopt a tease-payoff, tease-payoff approach
- If this was the first EXP pose in the shoot, certainly!
-
Video only: Conversation exposes model’s unique personality
- The model could be asked appropriate open-ended questions (for example, “What if you only had that to masturbat with – what could you do with it?”)
-
Video only: Model moves and is active
- (With all the other stuff going on, this is probably not appropriate!)
-
Sexiness, not continuity
- Well, hopefully this is shot in a sexy way!
-
Technically sound
- Hopefully, it will be technically sound
For EXP and INS posing levels, SP’s start with the model doing gentle labia spreading / small amounts of INS then build up across several poses, until the model is doing wider labia spreading / inserting as much as she comfortably can. This keeps the highest Posing Level interesting as it is slowly explored in-depth across all eight poses.
Ask the model to change her position slightly
In all poses there is room for the model to deeply explore a pose by changing her position slightly within that pose, without that pose becoming a new pose. Some examples include:
- Raise one leg slightly
- Raise the other leg slightly
- Raise one leg a lot
- Raise the other leg a lot
- Bend one knee
- Bend the other knee
- Look to the camera
- Look to herself
- Rest her head on the sofa
- Hold her head upright
- Hold her hands on her breasts
- Hold her hands in her hair
- Hold her hands on her buttocks (etc)
- Try and hold her feet while in the position
- Experiment with how wide her legs are held open across several images
- Change the fingers / hand she is using to perform INS
- Change her facial expression (happy, concentrating, enjoying it, not sure yet, etc)
- Change the position of her hands and how they snake across her body
- Move her buttocks in a figure-8
- Concentrate and breathe heavily
Summary
Not all of these approaches are appropriate for every pose in every shoot!
Utilising several ideas across each pose in a shoot should lead to deeply explored poses (and thus, engaging content for Customers).
