Working with shoots, Solo
On the shoot day, the process will be basically like this (btw, how we explain it to models):
Morning
- Warm intro of self and overview of the day
- Get to know the model, work on warm-ups (especially, “emotional” first)
- Get model paperwork completed in Homonoia (capture ID, Release form, Before HWB)
- Select clothes the model will wear (Backstage opportunities!); let her change in private
- Select suitable room to shoot in; set-dress as-necessary
- Setup flash gear for stills
- Pre Shoot Briefing
- Complete warm ups – physical and vocal (more Backstage opportunities)
- Shoot stills
- Refer to the Shoot Plan while shooting; ensure all Must-Haves are captured; shoot Dressing Room.
Afternoon
- Have a lunch break. A well-fed model is a happy model, and happy models make good shoots! Backstage…
- Do physical and vocal warm ups again (Backstage opportunities)
- Pre video shoot Briefing
- Shoot video
- Refer to the Shoot plan while shooting; ensure all Must-haves captured
- Finalise Model Release in Homonoia, and the “After” handwritten Bio (Backstage opportunities)
- Warm and friendly goodbye (Backstage!)
The following images are all considered excellent examples of the abbywinters.com creative and technical requirements. SPs are encouraged to recreate and be inspired by the following examples:
Anais V – Buttocks in jean shorts
SP Ursula didn’t accidentally capture the model from behind in jean shorts and end up with a stunning result, everything in this image has been engineered for maximum impact.
When SP’s are aware of a model’s most appealing attributes, they are better placed to showcase them. Anais V has great buttocks. Knowing this, the SP ensured that a standard image of a model’s buttocks in clothing from behind was shot in a way to celebrate this most appealing aspect.
Excellent model pose
Anais V has been directed onto her tip-toes while pushing her buttocks out and back. This ensures maximum curvature of the buttocks, emphasising their shape. When a model does not push back and out, buttocks can appear flat, which is less appealing and sometimes unflattering.
Buttocks are often compared to fruit, for example ‘a peachy bum’. In this image, the model’s buttocks do resemble ripe, round fruit, something customers might want to bite into! This gives the image a visceral quality.
Perfect camera position
The position of the camera, with the SP being square-on to the model but also a little lower, ensures the whole of the buttocks are visible and that the shape of the curves are emphasised.
Good clothing use
Jean shorts worn “correctly” are appealing but knowing that this image was an opportunity to explore and celebrate the shape of this model’s buttocks, the SP directed the model to roll the legs of the shorts up and out – exposing as much flesh as possible. The result is a denim frame for the model’s round buttocks, that really emphasise their shape.
These shorts were not designed to be worn this way, the model has intentionally pulled them up to show off her buttocks (the very definition of the “Clothing use” assessment area!).
Proficient tech
Lighting and exposure have been managed well, and this ensures customers can see the tiny details, such as the goosebumps on her skin. Showing texture and form is vital when emphasising shapes of a model’s body.
The outdoor setting is very on-paradigm, but the image would be less successful if the depth of field showed the background in equal detail to the foreground. The bright greens of the leaves are enough to confirm the model is outdoors in nature and the shallow depth of field helps to separate the buttocks from the blurred background.
The use of the natural light is excellent, the light adding in delicate highlights on the right thigh of the model. There are differences in light levels from left to right which adds interest and creates shape but the difference is not so much to be too contrasty.
Improvements?
This is an excellent image in many ways, but everything can be improved upon!
- A reflector to add more light between the model’s legs would reveal details of the camel toe starting to form
- A hint of panty colour under the jean shorts would be excellent tease
- If the model had been directed to place her legs and knees together the shape of her buttocks would appear even rounder
- Position the model so there was a full coverage of leaves in the background – no over-exposed sky.
Claudia V – Tan lines in the garden
SP George brilliantly captured the essence of summer within this one image. Long summer days and warm summer nights are things most people associate with pleasant memories, time off from work, life before responsibility, summer romances etc. Capturing all those feelings in a single image transports customers.
Compelling composition
The juxtaposing colours of the blue wall with the red of the watermelon work really well in combination and both colours are bright and vivid – in line with the abbywinters.com colour pallet.
Prior to this image, the model was washing her body using an outdoor shower. The lines of water down her stomach not only invite customers eyes toward her pubic area, but the arc of the lines emphasise the roundness of her tummy.
The innocent act of the model eating watermelon brings oral focus into the image and all the sexual connotations that go along with that.
Despite being nude the casual pose, cheeky smile and bright eyes of the model create an overall wholesome image, beautifully on-paradigm.
Fetish
Tan lines are a popular fetish, they suggest a sense of wholesome innocence (as the model has not been sunbathing naked) and they add in a feeling of summer.
The model’s pose, while seemingly random at first glace, ensures that her arms do not obscure the tan lines across her breasts and her hips are twisted so that her lower tan lines are pointing directly into the camera.
Tech
This image was shot using natural light. The SP selected a setting by the blue wall because it was in full shade, an even flattering light with no hard shadows. Sunlight is bouncing off a large surface off-camera, highlighting the wet lines running down the model’s stomach, emphasising the texture and form of her tummy and other feminine curves. The SP is standing appropriately off axis from the source.
Improvements?
While this is a great image, it could be even better:
- The model’s tattoo is needlessly visible, a small twist of the model’s body and it would not be there
- While the model’s smile is nice, this would be a more naturalistic image if the model was really bighting the melon rather than posing with it. The inclusion of those juices running from her mouth, an apologetic or amused smile from the model as the juices spilled over her, would be more visceral and add in more personality.
- Framing – The model’s right arm is needlessly cut off on the side.
Yes, there are several different definitions of the Nude posing level, depending on the context.
Topless is part of the Nude Posing Level from a model’s perspective
In the Posing Levels SDLP, we define the Nude Posing Level starts when the model is topless (ie, still wearing panties and jeans, but no t-shirt or bra). A model could not “only be topless” in a shoot, and complete a shoot and be paid for it – that’s not “nude enough”.
Images or video of the model being topless do not count towards the percentage of the shoot at the model’s highest Posing Level of Nude, but this material should be captured in most Solo shoots.
Topless does not meet the requirements for the Nude Posing Level for Shoot Producers
In the context of a scene needing to have 50% of the scene’s media at the Nude Posing Level (for example, in an edited 140-image shoot, 70 images are expected to show the model being Nude), as required for the Pose Variety and Exploration Depth assessment area, we define nude as “breasts and either buttocks or pubic region visible”.
A CU of a model’s pubic region or buttocks would certainly be counted towards the required Nude percentage. A CU of her breasts… that depends on if the model has already been established as being nude in this scene. For example;
It’s a Solo shoot, at the Nude Only Posing Level. The model removes her t-shirt and bra. She’s not nude yet (regardless of the lens length, CU or wide shot). Images of her breasts should certainly be captured, but they don’t count towards the 50% Nude requirement.
We see the model remove her jeans and panties, and then there’s a CU shot of her breasts – that shot would be included in the count towards the required Nude percentage.
She’s Nude, and we’re seeing different aspects of her.
No-Nude Extreme (Nude) does not necessarily meet the requirements for the Nude Posing Level
What if a model is wearing a see-through bra and see-through panties, and nothing else – is she Nude? Surely not, because she’s wearing clothes, right? Indeed, that’s correct. We’d consider that to be No-Nude Extreme (Nude) (and also excellent, btw).
However, this content would not count towards the required 50% Posing Level (but it would be a major credit to the Clothing Use assessment area).
So, the definition that matters in practical terms (for shoot assessment of the percentage of the shoot at the model’s highest Posing Level) is;
Breasts and either buttocks or pubic region visible.
CU’s of breasts, buttocks or pubic region are also counted as being Nude, if they are shot after the Posing Level is reached in the scene.
We recommend shooting stills first on a Solo shoot day (and for GG and GB shoots).
Advantages of shooting Stills first
There are a few advantages;
- When shooting Stills first, the Shoot Producer can direct and support the model easier than for video
- This is because the SP can speak constantly in the shoot, without worrying about their voice being recorded on the video soundtrack
- First-time nervous models historically do best when they do Stills first, for this reason
- While shooting Stills, the SP can build up a rapport with the model
- Building this relationship will pay off when shooting video, as she will feel more comfortable and potentially open up more
- During Stills, the SP can teach the model the poses and activities and the “AW Paradigm”
- So that for Video component, she looks more natural and confident in what she is doing
- There’s more to keep track of for video than stills
- Mapping the way through Stills makes it easier to add in the two extra Shoot Assessment areas for video (Model Moves and is Active; Conversation exposes her personality)
However, if SP’s want to shoot Video first, they are welcome to do so.
Advantages of shooting Video first
All that being said, there are some advantages to shooting video first…
- SP is setting up for a sunset shoot for Stills (where they feel best able to utilise the special light) shooting video first may be appropriate
- If the model is known to lose energy throughout the day, starting with video might be best
- It’s easier to support a model through the end of the Stills component, than for video
- Daylight fading later in the day
- Generally speaking, Stills lighting equipment is more effective at combatting lower light levels than Video lighting is.
- For example, if natural light light levels will be gone by 4pm, might be better to start with video to take fuller advantage of the daylight
- There’s a problem with the Stills equipment, getting replacement equipment will take a few hours by Uber, so may as well shoot video first
These are the realistic times each stage of a Solo shoot should take, assuming there are no problems, and appropriate preparation has been done before the shoot day. These are estimations, and some days might be shorter or longer. The total time based on these estimations is 8 hours and 45 minutes.
If a Shoot Producer finds that the time taken for these is considerably longer or shorter, consult with the Collective for advice.

One of the Assessment Areas that help to build a Solo shoot our customers will enjoy, Clothing being used to heighten sexiness is an element that should feature in every Solo shoot. Clothing can not only be worn in deliberate or unconventional ways to engineer appealing content, with model permission, clothing can also be modified on set by cutting the fabric.
Jean shorts example
In 2016 Creative Director Garion planned a tease sequence around model Alexandrea wearing jean shorts that were cut much smaller than the model would wear in real life. This shoot took place in Australia where it is a cultural norm for people to modify old pairs of jeans into shorts. Garion organised for the model to bring some old pairs of jeans / jean-shorts that she was happy to cut to pieces for the shoot, knowing when he made the initial request that it was likely she’d be ok with this.
The model was aware before the shoot began that it was unlikely the clothing she modified within the shoot would be wearable again after that day.
The Results
As an activity for this shoot, Garion asked the model to cut the jeans into the briefest possible version of shorts. Unfortunately, the footage taken of that was not suitable for the final edit, but the final results in the modified jean shorts works well. In the shoot, despite the shorts being so brief as to be unsuitable for use in public (?), this does not feel “forced” – it is known that customers willingly suspend their disbelief.
Improvements? Many are possible.
- The model having more pubic hair 😐
- A greater depth-of-field, so her vulva and anus area were in focus (this was shot at ISO 800, f3.5, 1/80th; the higher ISO was in an effort to let more daylight in)
- Maybe pulling her labia out more, to exaggerate the effect? (or maybe that would be “too much”? Worth a try, decide in the edit)
- Shooting the same pose again, without panties; pushing the denim into her labia more, so they wrap around the crotch (oh, he did do that, check it!)
T-shirt example
In 2015, a sequence was planned around the modification of a T-shirt to explore model Nichole’s large breasts. The T-shirt used in this instance belonged to the SP, so the model did not have to part with any clothing themselves. As only one T-shirt was present the SP shot Video and Stills back-to-back for this small section – capturing a small part of the action for video, then recapturing that same action for Stills
There is no need to Stills and Video mediums to match exactly, SPs can choose the medium the event will be best shot for, and shoot that; it’s also fine for the modification to be captured for Video, but just have the modified item worn in Stills.
A small incision was made in the middle of the neck line of the top and the model was encouraged to aid the top to slowly pull apart. The top was transformed into a bikini style covering before it was eventually ripped in half and removed.
The Results
Improvements? Many are possible.
- Tighter top – the initial top is not a good fit on the model, if it was “skin tight” everything that followed would be even better
- More light – A reflector and or twisting the model to the light source would ensure both breasts were equally exposed as the top was explored
- Working with the model to keep an engaged face
Assessment area Pose variety and exploration depth at highest level requires SPs to capture a percentage of the shoot at the model’s highest Posing Level across numerous different poses for Stills and Video. Eight or more unique poses are recommended for the highest Posing Level to ensure enough content is available for the final edit… but which poses should an SP select?
This depends on several factors:
- What the Posing Level is? (Nude, Open Leg, Explicit, Insertions)
- How physically flexible the model is?
- The location – what ‘levels’ are available to assist?
- Any grooming issues that need to be shot around eg tattoos or bruising
Some things can be prepared for in advance but other things – such as unexpected grooming issues or a pleasing discovery that a model is extremely flexible – may not be apparent until the day of the shoot. While all SPs have the creative capacity to improvise and change a shoot plan on the day, having prepared resources on hand will save time and result in better shoots four our customers.
Prepare to succeed
Prepare folders (physical, with print-outs or digital, something kept on a phone / laptop / tablet) with a list of the best poses for different situations that are likely to crop up . This ensures that SPs have a clear starting point to create from and that on occasions where a shoot plan does need to be changed on the morning of the shoot, the SP is not truly starting from scratch.
Fetish Finder is working to create an archive for this purpose, and already has some ready to go.
Recommended situations to cover:
- Best pose ideas for a flexible model
- Best NDE posing level poses
- Best pose ideas for pubic area grooming issues
- Best pose ideas for buttock grooming issues
- Best posing ideas for a model with a back tattoo
- Best poses for models with perfect foot grooming
Having prepared catalogues of available poses means SPs do not need to spend time thinking up the next pose to direct mid-shoot, and ensures SPs can easily offer alternative poses should a model be uncomfortable with anything she is asked to try. This way of working gives SPs the ability to be flexible to models needs without making the shoot day harder for themselves. Happy models and relaxed SPs create the best content!
While it is encouraged that SPs make their own pose idea catalogs, it is likely that FAQs will cover some of these topics over time.

Model grooming standards are high because abbywinters.com never uses makeup on-set, or Photoshop to “fix” blemishes. abbywinters.com is committed to publishing a true representation of models, as they really look (on a good day).
This is different to the approach of many competitors, some of whom liberally use both techniques to reduce blemishes appearing. Some producers simply ignore blemishes (especially those around the pubic region).
abbywinters.com’s pledge of realism comes with an additional burden of needing to ensure models feel attractive and happy with how we represent them in a make-up free state, and also that customers find models to appear healthy, neat and wholesome. For this reason – even if this is how she looks 90% of the time – it would not be suitable to shoot a model with a face full of white yellow headed acne that is about to erupt.
The Model Liaison team monitors each models grooming in the lead up to the shoot day, and SPs do an onset grooming check to catch any last-minute issues. This way, we ensure only models with appropriate grooming appear in shoots.
“Shooting around” grooming issues
Some grooming issues, while not preferred, can be “shot around” (that is, proceeding with the shoot, but de-emphasising the grooming issue with various techniques). SPs consider if they feel capable of delivering a shoot that:
- Fully meets all the assessment criteria
- Ensures the grooming issue is never visible to customers
If an SP feels confident that they can meet these stipulations, the shoot can go ahead. If the SP feels a grooming issue will be “too limiting” to shoot around (for example, the amount of the shoot at the model’s highest Posing Level would be significantly less than required), the shoot day is postponed until the grooming issues are resolved.
To work around a grooming issue a model’s Posing Level on a Solo shoot day might be reduced (only by discussion and agreement with The Collective), often to the Nude Only Posing Level.
Working around a grooming issue on a model’s buttocks
The initial process
The SP identifies a grooming issue on a model’s buttocks during the pre-shoot grooming check (performed at the very start of the day), shares an image of the issue with The Collective via the designated WhatsApp group. The Collective;
- Will ask the SP for their proposed solution;
- May recommend reducing the Posing level of the shoot (the model will need to be asked about this, as they will earn less);
- May decide to reschedule the shoot;
- May have provide specific hints and tips to help the SP make a successful shoot.
Sometimes, the Model Miaison may alert the Production team to the grooming issue in advance of the shoot day. Communication with The Collective regarding what can be done is the same, just in advance of the shoot day – the urgency is reduced a little, and there is more time to plan.
Approach: Select poses that hide the issue
The easiest way to avoid a buttock grooming error is to plan shots that do not show the model’s nude buttocks to camera. This is never preferred, as customers quite like models’ buttocks! But occasional exceptions can be made.
The Assessment area Number of distinct thoroughly-explored poses at highest level requires significant exploration depth with eight unique poses to be shot at the highest Posing Level). Selecting eight poses that have the buttocks hidden from the camera means the grooming issue will be hidden.
This approach can only be taken with approval from The Collective.
Position one: ‘Crab’
In this position models should be directed to put their weight on to their hands and to push their crotch up and forwards. The optimum positioning of the model is so that her tummy is totally flat – as if she were a table.
During video models can be challenged to walk in this position as part of MMaiA (unmotivated movement).
Position two: ‘Frog’
Key direction to models when finding this pose are to keep her legs as close to her body as possible and her feet as close to her buttocks as she can. This helps to open up her crotch for full vulva and anal exposure – ideal for OL or EXP content.
Details on this position are explored in FAQ: How to explore Frog Pose.
Position three: ‘Hips up, shoulders down’
Depending on the Posing Level intended for this pose, a model may need to twist her hips towards the camera and drop her near side leg lower, to expose the vulva and anus.
For video (MMaiA) the model can move her hips up and down, pulse them, gyrate them (simulating sex) or draw figure-of-eight shapes with her hips – all without exposing the grooming issue.
More information on how to explore this pose can be view in FAQ Hips high, back low pose.
Position four: ‘Kneeling’
ABOVE: Four variations of the kneeling pose. While this pose naturally lends itself to the NDE Posing Level, it can become OL if the model leans back with her legs apart, as shown in the bottom-right image.
Depending on where the grooming issue is, so long as the model is able to position the grooming issue hidden as she sits back on her buttocks, there is also an opportunity to shoot from behind (so customers feel like they have seen all of the model’s body), without the grooming issue being shown.
For more information on how to explore this Solo position go to FAQ Exploring Solo position: Kneeling.
Position five: ‘Laid on her back’
Of course, buttocks are fully hidden when a model lays on her back. For more details on how to explore this pose navigate to FAQ Laid on her back.
Position six: ‘Laid on her side’
During video there is potential for MMaiA in this position with the model lowering and raising her top leg, perhaps Layered with prop use (General prop) if she has exercise bands to place around her legs or leg weights to make the exercise more “taxing”.
Further information on this position can be viewed in FAQ Laid on her side pose.
Position seven: ‘Downward Dog’
This position would work well within a MMaiA yoga flow sequence, if shot from the above camera angle.
Position eight: ‘Shoulder stand’
Depending on the Posing Level, models could be directed to do bicycle riding motions with their legs during this position and attempt to straighten her legs fully up in the air as part of a MMaiA sequence.
While this example shows a model in an unsupported shoulder stand, doing this against a wall or arm of a sofa is fine as well.
Position nine: ‘Sitting’
Depending on the Posing Level there are several variations of this pose to be explored as there are many different ways a model can sit in a chair!
For more detail on this pose read FAQ Exploring solo position: Sitting.
Very flexible models will be able to take the sitting pose into the splits. More information on how to explore that can be found in FAQ: Exploring solo position: Legs wide/ splits.
Position ten: ‘Squatting’
A good pose for simulating sex, especially good during video, if the model has a dildo with a suction cup on the end that can be positioned below her.
More details on how to explore this pose in depth can be found in FAQ Squatting pose.
Position eleven: ‘Standing’
So long as there is space for the SP to get low with the camera and for the model to rest a leg on a surface (such as a table or window ledge) it is possible to do this pose at any posing level.
For more details on how to explore standing pose in depth go to FAQ: Standing position.
Position twelve: ‘Bridge’
Another pose with potential to be explored within a yoga flow as part of MMaiA during video.
For more details on ways to explore this pose review FAQ: Exploring solo position: Bridge.
Approach: Use model’s hands to hide grooming issue
Directing a model to hide a grooming issue on her buttocks with her hands can be a good solution. However, this fix will stand out (for the wrong reasons) if the model does not have “active” hands. A passive hand gently laid on a buttock looks out of place and adds nothing.
A hand grabbing or pressing into the flesh of a buttock has reason to be there (to deliver stimulation) and helps customers imagine what it would be like to touch the model themselves.
Approach: Use clothing to cover a grooming issue
Customers want to see naked models – it is what they are paying us for. Clothing items staying permanently on for whole shoots to obscure a grooming issue can frustrate customers (some customers would rather we just didn’t work with that model, if there is something that needs to be hidden). Frustrated customers do not remain customers.
Customers do, however, appreciate clothing being used to enhance the presentation and appeal of a model (so long as they also see a view with “nothing in the way” later in the shoot). Clever clothing use, that appears to be worn to make the model appear even more appealing (but is actually primarily in place to hide a grooming issue), must be countered by showing the model fully nude later in the shoot – but from an angle that does not show the grooming issue.
ABOVE: When a model has a grooming issue near the top of her buttocks, a long shirt can be selected, that hides the top of the model’s buttocks. A model may need to shrug the shirt off her shoulders slightly to lower the hem line of the shirt to hide the grooming issue, but this will not look out of place as this action is good tease before the shirt being removed. However, an OL pose can be shot with the shirt still on!
Approach: Use props to cover a grooming issue
Approach: Flat lighting
While never preferred in abbywinters.com shoots, flat lighting can help to make some grooming issues appear less “dimensional” (the “mountain” casts no shadow) so should be considered.
Send sample images to The Collective.
What about Must Haves?
Three Must Haves require the model’s nude buttocks to be aimed to camera. These Must Haves should still be shot (to spec) but they may or may not be used (at the discretion of the Imageset editor).
In instances where The Collective has agreed a model should be shot despite a grooming issue, SPs are not penalised these Must Haves being disincluded due to grooming issues, but they are penalised for other errors (such as not shooting them at all, or incorrect framing), even if the Must Haves do not make the edited set because of grooming.
To ensure Post Production are aware of this, SPs add an important-flagged note to the PPCMS whenever The Collective have approved a model to be shot with grooming issues that may impact Must Haves.
In addition to shooting the Must Haves to spec, SPs also shoot a variant that is close to the requirements, but hides the grooming issue. For example, clothing worn may be deliberately placed to hide the grooming issue, or the model may hold a prop or her hand over the grooming issue during the Must Have pose.
Must Haves are a required element of every Solo shoot. More details on what these are along with an overview on how to capture them can be found in the Must-Haves in-brief SDLP. Must Haves are assessed part of every Solo shoot and impacts the SP’s Level.
Each of the Must Haves have their own difficulties to perfect, but Single breast in profile is tricky.
What is “profile”?
The word “profile” has several different meanings which can cause confusion. in this context, we mean silhouette – a profile is the outline of a form. This Must Have needs to illustrate the outline form of a model’s single breast, showing how pert and firm (or otherwise) it is, with no other distractions.
General
For this Must-Have, positioning the camera to the side of the breast is not enough – SPs also needs to line up the lowest part of the breast, so that there is one straight line from that lowest point down and onto the tummy. In addition SPs ensure that exactly half of the model’s nipple is visible.
Framing checklist
- Only half of nipple is visible
- One unbroken line – her chest line does not come from mid way through her breast, it is lined up from the point where her breast is attached to her body
Correct example of Single breast in profile Must-Have
ABOVE: Single breast in profile Must Have of Sabrina V, shot perfectly.
Note how the frame includes the model’s chest, breast, and tummy in a profile, without seeing any of her “front”.
- Exactly half of the nipple is visible
- An unbroken line can be drawn from the nipple to the tummy. (Observe the red line)
The breast is captured in a perfect profile.
Incorrect Example of Single breast in profile Must-Have
ABOVE: Single breast in profile Must have of Jill. Incorrect.
The breast is shown from the side, but the camera is not far enough around, this is not a true profile.
- More than half of the nipple is visible (look at the top of the areola)
- There is not an unbroken line from the bottom of the breast down to the chest.
- The lowest part of the breast (the part that joins the breast to her body) is ‘growing’ out of the middle of her side, there is not one unbroken line.
- The red line is T shape, instead of an unbroken line
The breast is not in a perfect profile.
How to capture Single breast in profile
Positioning the model and camera ready to capture the Must Have
Step one: Establish where the lowest part of the breast is.
Step two: Select the frame. Starting with a frame of the side of breast in close up (similar to the frame above), walk slowly with the camera around towards her back. The model stands still. Observe the previously established lowest point of the breast, and stop when that unbroken line forms a smooth curve down the models chest.
Step three: Capture the frame, check the results. First the Must Have requirements (how much of the nipple is visible, is there one unbroken line from breast to body, not a “T”?), and check technical aspects – is the tip of the nipple in focus? Is the DoF appropriate? Is the lighting perfect showing texture and form? Does the exposure avoid blowout and dark shadows? Checking accuracy before moving on enables SPs to make corrections.
What if the model has sagging breasts?
If a model has breasts that continue to touch her body, it is not possible to show the point where the breast ‘grows’ out from the models body. Instead, the model’s chest is lined up with the point where the model’s breast stops touching her body.
Correct examples of saggy breasts Single breast in profile
Observe the smooth line from breast to chest – no “T”.
Incorrect examples of saggy breasts Single breast in profile
Customers want to get to know models better, from hearing them talk (this includes the words they say, but also how they say them, and para-verbals like how they laugh or make sexual sounds). Shoots where models tell engaging and vibrant stories are much more interesting to watch (and make it easier for Shoot Producers to showcase a model’s real personality).
The Conversation assessment area is used in Solo shoots to assess SP’s on how well they do this. We acknowledge a lot of the “quality” of how a model talks comes from the model herself, but there is still plenty the SP can do influence what models say in the shoot.
While a good story is always going to bring some value, not every story is right for any moment in the video. For example;
A model has chosen to make an Explicit-level Solo shoot. In a video scene towards the end of the shoot, she’s masturbating.
She’s talking about people who have inspired her.
This is a story worth sharing, but it’s not appropriate for when she is masturbating (unless, the story was about being inspired to masturbate!).
The same is true of asking Sexual questions too early in the shoot, for example;
A model has chosen to make an Insertions-level Solo shoot. In the clothed component, she’s walking around a garden.
She’s asked about how she likes to be penetrated when having sex, and describes her preferences.
This is information our customers certainly want to hear, but it’s better suited to be told when she is inserting her own fingers or a sex toy.
These are extreme examples that illustrate the point: Some times are better than others for some conversation topics. It’s common sense.
While it can be interesting to play around with this formula occasionally, our Emotion Over Time approach dictates that usually it is best to begin with non-sexual stories and to build up the intimacy of questions in line with the Posing Level the model is performing.
The guidelines are as follows;
-
As a general rule, ask more-sexual questions at the model’s highest Posing Level, and ask more-general questions when the model is clothed and is undressing
- The sexual-ness of the questions should generally match the sexual-ness of the shoot
- Consider that models at lower Posing Levels tend to be less-comfortable with detailed sex-based questions
- Tread carefully at first, check the model is comfortable with the line of questioning
- Consider that “more sexual” questions for a model at her highest level of Nude Only might be “Tell about about the last few times you were naked in front of people?” (ie, less-sexually-impactful). This is always fine if it’s what the model is comfortable with.
- Advance the sexual-ness of questions as the maximum Posing Level is developed in the shoot
- See examples below
What are some example questions I should ask models, based on their Posing Level?
These are just some examples of the “sexual-ness” of questions that are appropriate to ask at a given Posing Level, showing a suitable progression (imagine if this was a shoot of one model, who identified as heterosexual). Of course, there are many more questions that could be asked than just these questions!
When the model is clothed
- What do you do for fun?
- Who inspires you?
- What are some lessons you’ve learned in life, that you want to pass on?
- What’s the most trouble you have ever been in?
- What’s your ideal date?
When the model is at the Nude Posing Level
- What parts of your body do you like? What do you like about them?
- Apart from masturbation, show us some ways you like to touch your body? How do they feel? When do you do that?
- How do you like your breasts to be touched?
- What is your earliest pleasant memory of a sexual encounter?
- What makes sex with you unique?
When the model is at the Open Leg Posing Level
- What are some stretches you do to feel limbered up?
- Where do you “feel the burn”?
- How and where do you like to be touched during foreplay?
- How do you touch yourself before masturbating?
- What are some times when you have touched another girl’s thighs? What was the context?
- Describe your first intimate experience?
When the model is at the Explicit Posing Level
- What is the dirtiest thing you’ve ever done?
- Tell us about your first orgasm?
- What do you think about anal sex?
- How do you give blowjobs, what is your technique and what do you like about them the most?
- Where do you like a man to cum on your body?
When the model is at the Insertions Posing Level
- What’s the wildest thing you have done sexually?
- What’s been your longest “dry spell” and how did you deal with it?
- What are some objects you have played with sexually? In which way?
- What do you think about double penetration? (anal and vaginal penetration at same time)
- How much does penis-size matter?
Layering Conversation with the highest Posing Level
Solo shoots are more engaging when several shoot assessment areas are Layered together.
A static model sitting on a bed only talking (Conversation) is less engaging than a talking model who is also performing an activity. This could be MMaiA, Active use of a suitable prop, or a combination of several different assessment areas. The specific combination of assessment areas is not important, the elements being combined complimenting each other is.
Examples of obviously-suitable Conversation topics during EXP and INS
Anything linked to a models sexual journey or her physical pleasure and desires is suitable to be Layered with highest Posing Level action. Models talking about sexual things while doing sexual things is appropriate. Some examples of suitable topics include:
- Anything that is about the model’s physical body and how she derives pleasure – her breasts, thighs, buttocks, vulva, anus etc;
-
Model recounting any past sexual encounters;
- In these cases, the model should act them out in as much detail as possible!
- Model sharing her sexual awakening stories – first time masturbating, first kiss, first penetrative sex, and similar;
- Model sharing her sexual fantasies, plans and desires;
- Model reading out loud erotica she has written.
(this is not a complete list)
Examples of inappropriate Conversation topics during EXP and INS
Anything linked to the model’s non-sexual past, more mundane aspects of her life (for example, work, hobbies) and any deeply emotional stories are unsuitable when Layered with the highest Posing Level. The individual elements are too dissimilar and are jarring (and make models uncomfortable). Some examples of unsuitable topics include:
- Talking about their pre-sexual self; innocent stories from childhood (for example, playing Mary in the school nativity play; meeting Santa);
- Talking about mundane life-things (for example, work, non-sexual hobbies, study; yoga routine; travel);
- Discussing deeply emotional experiences (for example, deaths, illnesses, bullying, personal challenges)
(this is not a complete list)
As for most things in life, there are always exceptions. For example, if her BFF helped the model’s sexual awakening when she was 17 but died when she was 21, it’s appropriate to bring up the advice and death earlier in the shoot (in a non-sexual context), then refer to it when she is doing sexual stuff (“This is a masturbation tip I got from Rebecca…”).
Scenario one
Model Jane grew up with a mother suffering from a debilitating illness. She talks openly about being a young carer and how that impacted her life then and now.
This is a great Conversation topic! It reveals the model’s caring nature, touches upon her growth and development into the woman she is today – and has the potential to be moving, causing customers to empathise with the model and thus feel closer to her. Causing customers to have real feelings is a part of the abbywinters.com paradigm, and this is definitely a story to be told on camera (assuming the model is comfortable telling it, of course!). However, it’s not suitable to be paired with the model inserting a dildo!
The story is good, and and the dildo action is also good… when combined, the juxtaposition feels “weird” and disrespectful .
This is an “extreme” example, but the same is also true with less dramatic Conversation topics that are inappropriately juxtaposed.
Scenario two
Model Angela is an accomplished flautist, she has played for many years and went into higher education on a music scholarship.
Jane should certainly introduce customers to her flute and talk about her love of the instrument, some of the experiences she has had because of it and her goals once she has finished her music training. She should also play the instrument during video. However this content does not easily pair with the EXP or INS Posing Level.
Either the model is casually chatting about her music, or she is physically pleasuring herself – it can’t be both.
Transitioning from non-sexual Conversation topics to Sexual topics
Conversation is at its best when it seamlessly transitions from one thought to another. An SPs role is to act as a guide, helping models to flow from one thought into the next. A single Conversation topic should lead to several different ideas being explored. SPs encourage this by using follow up questions.
Through managed Conversation models will be able to transition from highest Posing Level poses into lower posing level action (perhaps MMaiA) and back again. The overall topic of Conversation will remain the same but the specific questions will be selected to match the Posing Level being performed at that time.
This means a model may begin by talking about something that would not be suitable to pair with EXP or INS action (perhaps while looking for her dildo – MMaiA) and then evolve that topic of Conversation into something that is suitable to discuss during INS, by the time she is ready to start inserting.
This method will aid SPs to construct a textured and interesting structure within Solo shoots. A model doing all her highest Posing Level action back to back is dull. A model doing other activities between highest Posing Level poses is interesting.
Take Jane and her flute. While she should not talk about the general topic of her flute during masturbation ‘this one time at band camp’ something sexual could have happened and that is a very suitable thing to pair with EXP or INS.
Yoga
Lower Posing Level topics
- How she got into it
- Her usual routine
- Her experience at a retreat in the desert
Higher Posing Level topic
- Explaining tantric yoga
- The sex she had at yoga camp
- The yoga poses she uses most while having sex
Work
Lower Posing Level topics
- First job
- Worst job
- Current job and career goals
Higher Posing Level topic
- Power dressing for work transitioning into dressing a certain way for dates
- Her sexual fantasy about being a sex worker
- The crush she had on her old boss and confessing to thinking about them while masturbating at home – transitioning into a general discussion about real people she uses to masturbate vs imaginary people.
School days
Lower Posing Level topics
- Summary of the kind of kid she was
- Worst thing she ever did and the punishment
- How nostalgic she is for the past
- How she thinks she has grown spiritually since childhood.
Higher Posing Level topic
- When did she first become aware of sex and sexuality
- Firsts: Kiss; masturbation; fingering; penetration etc
Her musical instrument
Lower Posing Level topics
- What drew her to it
- If it has name
- How long she has been playing, her goals, inspirations etc
Higher Posing Level topic
- What music gets her in the mood
- Any sexual encounters at band camp / music festivals etc
How much talking should models do during EXP and INS content?
The amount of talking a model should do during sexual action will vary depending on the model’s personality.
Some models will naturally be able to balance Conversation and EXP and INS, others will find it very hard and ‘weird’ to multitask like this. It is the Solo shoot equivalent of asking a model to “pat her head and rub her tummy” at the same time – some people can and some people cannot. Either is fine.
What is most important is that models feel comfortable, and the talking she does is on-topic.
Check in with model’s comfort level
The first time Conversation is Layered with the highest Posing Level, SPs check in with the model and ask how they felt about it (as always, using open-ended questions even though the camera is not recording).
SPs need to establish if the model finds layering Conversation with sexual action comfortable. If a model is not comfortable doing both, the two elements need to be separated, with the sexual Conversation being Layered with other things – perhaps MMaiA.
Solo shoots are assessed against a set criteria based on aspects that are known to be important to Customers, and make interesting and engaging shoots.
One of the Solo assessment areas is Number of distinct thoroughly-explored poses at highest level; exploration depth; amount of shoot at highest level. In conversation, we shorten this to Posing level %.
To be assessed as acceptable, it is required that eight unique poses are covered in-depth at the model’s highest posing level. Selecting eight unique poses is one element, but the highest Posing Level percentage will only be achievable if those eight poses are each explored in depth. Thorough exploration depth will ensure that enough of the highest Posing Level content appears in the final edited shoot.
Content captured is one factor in determining the Posing Level percentage, but media that is repetitive or dull will be removed during the editing process. This means that SPs make sure they are exploring multiple aspects of each pose, giving customers a deep understanding of the model’s form.
Each shoot will offer unique things to be explored within each pose (due to the model’s flexibility, body shape, and the setting), but there are some universal approaches to exploring a pose in depth that can be used in all cases.
- Deeply exploring a pose using the camera
- Deeply exploring a pose by adding an activity
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Actively use suitable Props
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Strongly fetish- and SUBA-based
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Clothing used effectively
- Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Conversation exposes model’s unique personality(video only)
Deeply exploring a pose using the camera
In-depth exploration of a pose with a camera is where we show customers how the model looks within that pose, from several angles, across several lens lengths.
-
Wide shots (all of model in frame, hair, fingers, toes)
- From the front – camera at same eye-level as the model
-
From the side
- One side is enough, unless the view is notably different
- From further around the side (if light allows, and there are new details to be appreciated)
-
With the camera lower than the model’s face, looking up
- Particularly useful for OL, EXP and INS posing levels as this often offers a clear view of the vulva and anus
-
With the camera above the model’s face, looking down
- Can make it difficult to see anus and vulva not suitable for OL, most useful for NDE and EXP perhaps INS
- Over the model’s shoulder, to show her point of view (if the light allows 360° movement around her without CSP casting shadows, or flat light)
-
Mid-shots (around half of the model in frame)
- From the front – camera at eye level of model
- From the front – camera at same eye-level height asof model
-
From the side
- One side is enough, unless the view is notably different on either side
- From further around the side (if light allows and there are new details to be appreciated)
- With the camera lower than the model’s face, looking up
- With the camera above the model’s face, looking down
-
CUs and XCU shots (focussing on key areas)
-
Showing key features of the highest posing level
- For NDE – pubic area
- For OL – labia and anus
- For EXP – spread labia and or anus
- For INS – something inserted inside the vulva and or anus
- If visible and practical, a CU’s of fetishes is always appealing content
-
Showing key features of the highest posing level
Not all of these shots need to be captured for each of the eight poses, but some should be selected for each to contribute to exploring that pose deeply.
For EXP and INS poses, it is fine to shoot a sequence of up to four images showing the model spreading her labia from only-just-open to wide-open and showing a finger or object going all the way in and coming back out.
A clothed example of deeply exploring a pose using the camera
A message from Masie the Trainer;
On a real shoot, the model would be nude and the framing would be more crotch orientated than in these examples, as showing the models naked crotch is a requirement of all four highest Posing Levels but as the Trainer, I felt it would be appreciated if I demonstrated the principles with my clothes on 😊 🤣
Wide shots
Mid shots:
CU and XCU shots
14 images, each bringing different value, were captured of the model in this Sitting Pose, simply by changing the position of the camera. To ensure all 14 images made the final edit, other things would also need to change between images. SPs should be mindful of directing models hands, legs and facial expressions to change between images for example, alongside directing bigger changes such as adding in activities described below.
Deeply exploring a pose by adding an activity
Models should explore several Activities within a Solo shoot – they add variety, interest and help customers learn about the model as an individual, while exploring her physicality.
Below, is Natalie R in a standing pose. The SP asked the model to turn around on the spot to cover more aspects of her body (excellent work – this is often requested by customers, and is so simple to shoot!), while using a longer lens to ensure no distortion of her body.
This is good Pose depth exploration (this shoot is at the Nude Only Posing Level), but there’s plenty more – all this was done before adding in some Activities, to enable deeper exploration.
Climbing a low tree (Always consider health and safety!) is a great way to engage different groups of a model’s muscles at the same time, while exploring her personality – and exploring a pose in depth. Climbing a tree is a playful and sometimes challenging thing to do and should lead to real reactions and facial expressions (great).
The model later revisits Standing Pose by running. Running is an Activity best covered in video where motion is visible but fine for one or two images.
In Natalie R’s Solo Standing Pose is covered simply and also with two different Activities. This keeps the action engaging and interesting and resulted in twelve Wide-Frame images in the final edit at the NDE posing level.
Some Activities, such as tree climbing and running, do not require props but often Activities used for exploration of a pose in-depth layer well with assessment area Actively use suitable props.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with “Actively use suitable Props” assessment area
If a model is in a position where she has her hands free, she can interact with a prop. This works especially well for shoots with the highest Posing Level of NDE or OL, where casual prop use as well as feature prop use, is easily possible at the highest Posing Level.
- She might put up her hair with a hair tie, in an NDE pose
- She might clean her glasses while in an OL pose
- She might use her hair clips to pull back her pubic hair into an EXP pose
- She might insert a dildo in an INS pose
Repeating the same prop use in every pose at the model’s highest Posing Level is not appropriate, the content will become too similar and will be simply discarded during the editing process. The one exception to this is the model using the same dildo for INS if she only owns one, however even in that instance, the model should also explore the INS posing level using her fingers to add in variety.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with Strongly fetish-based assessment area
Some Fetishes, rely on model’s having certain physical features – for example to explore foot fetish a model needs neatly groomed and well cared-for feet.
Other fetishes are things that can be done with any model – such as upskirt tease. When layering fetishes with exploring a highest Posing Level pose in-depth , SPs need to consider which fetish pairs best with which pose and indeed which Posing Level.
While the above image is strong, there is a risk of it back-firing…
Some layering can create issues. If a model is doing EXP or INS, the focus is on the models touching and exploring her vulva and anus. Simultaneously exploring a fetish around another part of her anatomy pulls customers focus. This creates conflict for the SP, where do they focus the camera lens? This could lead to a reduction in highest posing level percentage.
For this reason, its better to explore (for example) breast content for NDE or OL shoots and explore fetishes around a model’s pubic region for EXP and INS. That does not mean models in EXP and INS shoots should not have their breast stimulated, but just not fetishised so the focus (as in the example image of Simona, above), can remain with the highest Posing Level.
OL Posing Level shoots include shots where the camera is focused on a models vulva and anus, but because those areas cannot be touched, focusing only there could get dull, so after getting a CU shot in each pose, bring in other appealing model features, such as a model’s breasts, legs, buttocks, etc.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with “Clothing used effectively” assessment area
Layering assessment area Clothing used effectively with the highest Posing Level is a great way to add variety and newness to a highest posing level pose. Clothing use can be utilised to isolate different body parts and to add in some creative fun.
Deeply exploring a pose by layering with “Conversation exposes model’s unique personality” Assessment area
A model who is verbally engaging is unlikely to be edited down. Therefore ensuring that a model has interesting and engaging things to speak about within highest posing level poses is a must!
Emotion Over Time / Layering
The first time customers see a model in a new pose at her highest Posing Level, they are excited and pleased through the mere fact it is a new pose – a new chance to see the model, in a new presentation for the first time.
SPs capture each pose “simply” to begin with, nothing more is needed to engage Customers and it allows Customers to see the model in the pose with no distractions. As the “novelty starts to wear off”, SPs add in different “Activities” (see above), repeating the same camera exploration they did when they first presented the position – eg, Wides, Mids and CUs.
An example of a deeply explored pose might go like this:
The model puts her panties on over her breasts (Clothing use). The SP has a model sitting on the sofa doing an EXP pose. This is shot simply for Wides Mids and CUs, deeply exploring a pose in her highest Posing Level.
The model opens her makeup bag (Active prop use) and pulls out a makeup brush, which she brushes along the inside of her thigh before pressing the end to her clitoris – holding her labia open with her other hand.
Note how this “layers” several Solo shoot Assessment Area requirements, in the one video segment:
- Assessment area: Clothing used to heighten sexiness
- Assessment area: Pose variety and exploration depth at highest level
- Assessment area: Actively use suitable props
With a little planning, some other assessment areas could also be included in this same sequence:
-
Strongly fetish-based
- Consider what fetishes might apply – what if this was glimpsed up her skirt? Or her large breasts were emphasised by the Clothing Use?
-
Adopt a tease-payoff, tease-payoff approach
- If this was the first EXP pose in the shoot, certainly!
-
Video only: Conversation exposes model’s unique personality
- The model could be asked appropriate open-ended questions (for example, “What if you only had that to masturbat with – what could you do with it?”)
-
Video only: Model moves and is active
- (With all the other stuff going on, this is probably not appropriate!)
-
Sexiness, not continuity
- Well, hopefully this is shot in a sexy way!
-
Technically sound
- Hopefully, it will be technically sound
For EXP and INS posing levels, SP’s start with the model doing gentle labia spreading / small amounts of INS then build up across several poses, until the model is doing wider labia spreading / inserting as much as she comfortably can. This keeps the highest Posing Level interesting as it is slowly explored in-depth across all eight poses.
Ask the model to change her position slightly
In all poses there is room for the model to deeply explore a pose by changing her position slightly within that pose, without that pose becoming a new pose. Some examples include:
- Raise one leg slightly
- Raise the other leg slightly
- Raise one leg a lot
- Raise the other leg a lot
- Bend one knee
- Bend the other knee
- Look to the camera
- Look to herself
- Rest her head on the sofa
- Hold her head upright
- Hold her hands on her breasts
- Hold her hands in her hair
- Hold her hands on her buttocks (etc)
- Try and hold her feet while in the position
- Experiment with how wide her legs are held open across several images
- Change the fingers / hand she is using to perform INS
- Change her facial expression (happy, concentrating, enjoying it, not sure yet, etc)
- Change the position of her hands and how they snake across her body
- Move her buttocks in a figure-8
- Concentrate and breathe heavily
Summary
Not all of these approaches are appropriate for every pose in every shoot!
Utilising several ideas across each pose in a shoot should lead to deeply explored poses (and thus, engaging content for Customers).
EXP posing level is the second most popular posing level selection made by models, meaning SPs tackle this posing level often. Luckily the EXP posing level is one that lends itself well to variety when exploring the highest posing level in depth.
Some ways to approach the EXP posing level include:
- Starting small with tiny spreading in poses one and two before progressing to really wide spreading of the labia by position eight (Emotion Over Time)
- Pushing the labia together
- Twisting the labia
- Pulling the labia to the sides
- Pulling the labia to the front
- Popping the clitoris out
Regardless of which of the above techniques are utilised the approach should always be to build up the action from small to as extreme as the model is comfortable with. For example if a model is twisting her labia, she should start with gentle folds, increasing the number of twists across several poses until she eventually reaches the limit of the number of rotations she can do.
Lots of models expose their clitoral hoods in abbywinters.com shoots but not enough models then push that back to expose the clitoris in full. This is a fetish that’s easy to capture and should be done for every EXP posing level Solo.
One of our customers provided these tips on how to expose the clitoris in full.
To see the ENTIRE clitoris,
- The models need to put their 2 index fingers DIRECTLY ON the clit hood (not NEAR the clit hood) and pull back.
- The ENTIRE clit shows the rim around the head where the clit connects to the rest of her body (just like a guy has a rim around the head of his penis).
- Shoot it as an extreme closeup
Historic shoot Lillian Solo, is a strong example of EXP variety within each pose (although, there are not enough poses in this shoot). She also has unique clitoral anatomy that the SP explored well.

What are some tips for exploring a pose in depth at the highest posing level during a Solo?
NFBSN stands for “Neutral full body standing nude”, a Must Have shot for Solo shoots. Customers enjoy seeing models standing nude with “nothing in the way”, especially being able to compare models.
What NFBSN requires
To meet the requirements of this Must Have;
- Model standing neutrally
- Feet shoulder-width apart; shoulders down; relaxed; gentle smile
- Shot from a neutral perspective
- Camera at model’s navel-level
- ~70mm lens for stills
-
All of the model is included
- Including all her toes, hair, fingers
- But no more than that
There is a deep-dive SDLP just for the the NFBSN Must Have. An overview each Must Have is in the Must-haves in-brief SDLP.
Capturing NFBSN for Stills
Best-practise for capturing NFBSN for Stills;
- Select a contrasting background
- That is, a different colour / texture to the model herself
- This is not essential, but can be nice
- Pose the model
- If the room is small, have the model with her back to the wall (ie, shoulders and buttocks touching) – this helps increase the camera-to-model distance
- Have the model face in the direction where the camera can be farthest away from her
- For stills, zoom the camera in
- Up to 200mm zoom is acceptable, but 70mm is all that is necessary – anywhere between 70 and 200mm is fine.
- In limited circumstances with no other possible options, 50mm can be used (never preferred)
- Get in position
- Move backwards until something is in the way
- Crouch down, to get the camera at belly-button level of the model
- If a wall is in the way, pull the camera to the eye socket, have head against the wall to fully maximise the camera-to-model-distance
- Fill the frame with the model
- Portrait camera orientation
- Adjust zoom as necessary, but no wider than 70mm
- Direct the model to relax
- Capture a perfect NFBSN image
Clothing
All clothing should be removed for NFBSN, but there are some exceptions.
If a model has a grooming issue (for example a tattoo) that is required to remain hidden for the shoot, leaving clothing items on such as socks or an open shirt for the NFBSN Must Have is acceptable.
Leave a note in the PPCMS for editors, describing the reason why clothing has been left on. The NFBSN Must Have will be marked as meeting requirements (assuming everything else is to spec).
If clothing items remain on a model’s body when the NFBSN shot is captured and there is no reason for them not to come off, that is a problem. In those instances, the Must Have would not be counted as being shot correctly.
Example
There’s no reason for model Elza to have her feet covered for NFBSN: she does not have any grooming issues or tattoos on her feet, and is barefoot within her Solo shoot. But for the NFBSN Must have for video, the model wore socks! This does not meet the requirements for the NFBSN Must Have – customers who find feet appealing (of whom we have many) find this frustrating.
Common problem: Model’s feet hidden
Historically, the most prevalent framing issue for the NFBSN Must Have is models standing on soft surfaces (beds, sofas etc), and the model’s feet sinking in to that surface and partly disappearing from view (bad).
There are several workaround open to SPs.
Solution: Get the model to stand on a hard surface
Standing on the floor is always preferred for NFBSN, but sometimes the space in a shooting location does not allow for this. While it’s possible to use a wide-angle lens, this distorts the model (never acceptable). An absolute minimum for NFBSN for stills is a 50mm lens length, 70mm or greater is preferred.
Standing on a bed or sofa often helps get the addition distance from the camera needed to shoot at a longer lens length.
Problem: Fitting all of the model in the frame
It can be difficult to get a full-body shot, if the setting of the shoot is in a small room. There are a few solutions to this (and one “anti-solution).
Anti-solution: Zoom out (not acceptable!)
It’s tempting to just zoom out to get full-body shots of the model – it’s just a flick of the wrist! While that works “technically” – all of the model is in the frame now – the model’s body is distorted. This does not give the customer a clear representation of the model, which is what they are seeking.
Solution: Move model to different part of location
There is no rule that the whole shoot needs to be in the one setting (in fact, it’s better if it’s not). If the main shoot setting does not offer suitable conditions to capture the NFBSN Must Have, move the model to a different room, hallway (or even private garden) to capture it there.
The assessment area Sexiness not continuity states that a Solo shoot should be a collection of loosely coupled moments, so there’s no need to justify why the model is suddenly in a new setting. So long as the new setting is on-paradigm, it’s fine.
Solution: SP stands in hallway / cupboard / other room
The SP should also consider what appropriate personal discomfort is suitable to get the Must Have correctly captured for example, sitting on top of a desk at the back of the room.
Positioning the camera outside the room can work well. For example, in the hallway, shooting through the open door, or even in a room opposite the room the model is in. Showing a door frame on the edges of the image is acceptable, if the NFBSN shot meets the other requirements.
Problem: Incorrect camera height
For the NFBSN Must Have, the camera lens must be level with the model’s belly button. This ensures the most accurate and neutral depiction of the model’s physical form. If the camera is lower or higher, it distorts the perspective of the model’s body parts. That can be ok (in small amounts) in shoots in general, but does not meet the requirements for NFBSN.
Solution: get the camera at the correct height
The Shoot Producer kneeling is typically the best pose for this.

Open Leg is a popular Posing Level with many of our customers – it’s quite revealing, but it does not “cross the line” into the “crass” Posing Levels. All our customers are different, and segmenting our Solo shoots by Posing level we help cater to as many people as possible.
But when we make an OL shoot, it needs to be really OL!
Ideally, the model’s anus and vulva will be visible in all OL poses… but that limits the range of poses too much, so we accept some OL poses to be vulva-only or anus-only, to allow for some more variety.
Any time the model’s anus is actually visible, the pose is considered to be OL (at least – it may be EXP or INS depending on what else is happening in the media!). If the vulva is hidden and the anus is only implied (for example, hidden in shadow), the pose does not meet the requirements for OL.
Seeing more of the model’s vulva is always preferred, so directing the model to do some specific things will improve the visibility. Consider directing the model to;
- Have her legs wide apart
- Push her bum up / vulva out
- Have knees apart
It’s not necessary or expected to see the model’s clitoris in the Open Leg Posing Level. It may be visible depending on her level of arousal, her anatomy, the pose, and the amount of pubic hair, and it’s certainly good to capture if it makes an appearance, but it is not required or expected. It’s never appropriate to ask a model to expose it in an OL shoot (but in an EXP shoot, it is appropriate to ask the model to expose her clitoris off-camera, then shoot it as an OL shot!).
It is not required to see the model’s labia minora in an OL pose. It’s likely it will be visible, but this will depend on her anatomy, flexibility and arousal state.
A model’s labia majora will always be visible for OL poses (unless this is an anus-only capture, which is acceptable).
A shot where the model’s body, leg or clothing or camera angle obscure most of the vulva (for example, capturing an image with the camera between the model’s breasts for a “model’s-eye-view”) do not meet the requirements for OL (but, they are definitely interesting and should be shot!). the sequence of Angie, above, shows this.
Similarly, a model being in an OL pose, but shot from the side so her vulva and anus are not visible, at all does not count towards OL. OL is based on what the customer can see (not from what is inferred or implied).
Each OL pose the model gets into should be captured from a range of angles, close-ness-es, with minor pose changes. Always consider how clothes or props could be incorporated. Consider how set-pieces can help expose the model (stretching body parts open, for example, or allow the camera to be positioned below the model for a unique perspective). As always, consider what limits can be tested.
When a model has fuller (larger) buttocks and thighs, it can be difficult to meet the requirements for th Open Leg poses, the vulva and anus visible in many shots.
it can be tempting to ask the model to “assist” by pulling open her buttocks – this certainly exposes the vulva and anus… but an OL pose becomes an EXP when a model does that. Pulling open the buttocks, even from comparably far away from the actual vulva and anus stretches the skin around the area, causing deflection of her labia or anus – the very definition of what makes an EXP pose!
If the model is being shot for the EXP Posing Level, that’s fine to do, and subtle moves like this are excellent to capture.
But if OL is the maximum Posing Level for this model, this is not ok! Models are told what the OL Posing Level involves, they are paid for a OL-level shoot, and we never want to make models uncomfortable by “forcing” them to do poses that were not part of the agreement.
Not every pose will work
When models have fuller buttocks, poses like Doggy Position may not be viable (as the buttocks may naturally be closed) – obscuring the anus and vulva. The solution is not to get models to pull their buttocks open (that would change the Posing Level to EXP), but to instead direct models into poses where the anus and vulva can easily be seen.
Depending on the model flexibility, directing her to have her knees a little apart, bum up, chest lower down (breasts on the bed) may cause her buttocks to open up.
Explore the poses that do work in more detail
As there will be some poses that do not work for models with fuller buttocks, SPs ensure the poses the models can achieve are covered in more depth than usual.
This is done by not only utilising different lens lengths and camera positions but by focusing on the different ways Props, Clothing, set pieces, Model moving and being active and Conversation can be layered with the OL posing level.
This FAQ relates to required elements within Level 4 Solo shoots but these elements are also encouraged within Level 3.
Each Level 4 Solo shoot shows models in an “extra” Setting, in addition to the “main” Setting (see FAQ What’s the difference between a “Location” and a “Setting”? for definitions on these terms).
For example if the model is shot principally in the living room she may do a single activity in the garage, to fulfil this requirement.
Other activities that could take place in a secondary Setting might include collecting herbs from the garden, carrying some stuff up the stairs to the apartment, walking along the footpath, washing her face in the bathroom, loading the washing machine.Secondary settings could be a different Location, for example the model may visit a local park, buy a coffee from a shop, or refuel her car. Different Locations are logistically more complex, but add a lot more value to the shoot.
What is the value of Secondary Settings?
Secondary Settings add variety and interest to shoots.
They allow customers to see models in a different context, which increases our ability to connect with a customer (“hey, I remember when I used to skateboard!”, or “That’s the same car I have!”). These small connections help customers see models as real people, in the real world. It positions abbywinters.com models as being attainable, as people the customer might meet in the real world, making them more appealing.
Changing a Setting in a shoot also creates more opportunities to show a model engaging in everyday activities (unlike in Level-3-and-below shoots, where models are often contained within a single room).
Secondary shoot Settings that show other Settings in the same Location (eg, the front entrance area, as well as the living room), help to show that the model is in a real home – not a dressed corner of a studio. This enhances the realism of the shoot.
The addition of another Setting further enhances the realism of shoots, and this variety helps us differentiate from our competitors.
Increasing the number of Settings also increases the likelihood of spontaneous or unexpected things happening – elements known to make shoots better.
How do secondary Settings impact the length of the shoot day?
Shooting in secondary Settings should not affect the length of a shoot day. Level 4 Solos are not intended to produce more content, but to guide SP’s to be more selective with the content they focus on within each shoot.
This is reflected in the changes in how shoots are assessed at Level 4 compared to Level 3. The Level 4 assessment system allows SP’s to spend more of a shoot focusing on one area of a shoot over the others (unlike Level-3-and-below, where all assessment areas need somewhat equal coverage).
Secondary Settings require 3 to 5 minutes of edited video and up to ten edited images, they are small peaks of exciting action within the whole. It is not necessary to formally light secondary Settings (as an SP would do for the main shoot Setting).
“Found light” will – in most cases – be enough to light a secondary shoot space.
Minimum technical requirements for secondary shoot Settings
- No hard / distracting shadows.
- The majority of the model and surrounding Setting are clearly visible (exposure).
- No key areas (labia, anus or highest Posing Level aspects of the model) are unclear.
Technical allowances for secondary Settings
- More-contrasty light is acceptable so long as the majority of the model’s form is clear.
- DoF can be shallower than usual, though should always be as deep as possible so all of the model is in focus
- Gain / ISO can be higher than usual: there is an acceptable tolerance for a certain level of grain and WB impact. As a guide, 9dB / ISO 1600 on modern cameras is acceptable
Possible secondary shoot Setting ideas There is no requirement for the model to be nude (or at a higher Posing Level) in secondary shoot spaces.
Some spaces will lend themselves to more revealing posing (for example, if the main shoot is in the bedroom and the bathroom is selected as the secondary Setting, showing the model washing her face in the nude is excellent. But if the model heads out to get a coffee, there’s no need for her to be nude, or even dressed provocatively.
Nearby public transport, roads, tourist attractions, public parks, shops or similar
The easiest secondary shoot spaces will be outdoors, where there is a likelihood of good light levels.
ABOVE: Samantha-Jane demonstrating the kind of fun that can be had (clothed) on a train. If a shoot Location was near a train, metro, tram or bus route the SP could arrange to travel one stop with the model or to meet the model at the station at the start of the day for an interesting – ‘the model is literally just arriving’ opening to a Solo.
Gardens, balconies, front porches
When travelling away from the main shoot Location is not possible, outdoor secondary Settings may be found within the property lines.
A model being shot in her own home may feel uncomfortable with her neighbours seeing someone capturing her with a production-sized camera. It is fine to switch to using a modern mobile phone (HD 1080 is acceptable) to capture content in a secondary shoot Settings , if that makes the model more comfortable.
ABOVE: Brandy and Olive both dressed in “No Nude Safe” outfits, doing nothing any neighbour could object to if they happened to look into the garden. Despite this, the bare feet and flash of naked legs on Brandy is very appealing and the hint of panties on the side of Olive’s shorts is excellent tease!
Shared or private pools
Pools can lead to great content! Some shoot Locations have private or communal pool hire as part of a Location booking.
When shooting in public spaces like shared pool areas, to avoid trouble, content should remain at No Nude Safe levels, unless the SP is absolutely certain no one can see. It is never acceptable to have children on the audio track for video or within frame for stills or video.
Elsewhere in shoot location: Kitchen, garage, bathroom, ensuite, cellar, walk in wardrobe, stairs etc
If shooting in a model’s real home, shooting in as many rooms as possible is essential to giving customers a sense of who the model is and what her real life looks like. Getting models to give a tour of their home is a great way to do this.
SP’s should not fear ‘shooting out’ a Location that a model owns. As it is her real home, it is fine for her to appear in the same Settings across multiple shoots although it is preferred to visit multiple rooms before repeating the use of a Setting.
When SP’s are working in hired spaces, they need to be mindful of how many shoots with different models they intend to get from that space across a number of different visits. It is not appropriate for different models to be shot in a space that has not been significantly dressed to look like a different Location since it was last used.
When SP’s need to be mindful of not “shooting out” locations, it is logical to restrict secondary shoot Settings to areas that would never be suitable for a main shoot. For example small bathrooms, laundry rooms, cellars, dressing rooms, stairs etc.
Doggy position is a versatile pose offering several opportunities for exploration in depth of a highest Posing Level within a Solo shoot.
Applicable to all highest Posing Level Poses:
Ensure all general highest Posing Level exploration techniques are utilised. For more information consult FAQ – What are some tips for exploring a pose in depth at the model’s highest Posing Level?
This FAQ is about exploring a appealing general pose, it’s not about the Must Have (the OL Bum & face showing HWR, anus visible, wide Must Have has many specific requirements, and should be captured as part of this more-general exploration of the pose).
Specific to Doggy position
Key features of the position
The model is bent forwards at the waist, so her breasts are hanging directly below her. This can be done standing or kneeling. Doggy position primarily helps show the shape and size of a models buttocks but can also be a good position to open up the model’s anus and vulva (for OL or higher) and to explore the swing and size of a model’s breasts.
Posing levels this position is suitable for
- NDE
- OL
- EXP
- INS
What customers like about this position
Doggy position is popular to the point of being a fetish for many Customers. It features in two fetish pages – Face down ass up and ‘Ready For Sex’.
Doggy position is a pose that allows customers to imagine that they are about to penetrate the model.
This position is particularly alluring to customers when the model looks willing. When the posing level allows, direct the model to hold her buttocks open as this opens her labia and anus ready for penetration. For lower posing levels including the model’s eyes and mouth are alternative ways to convey her eagerness to Customers.
As a sex position, Doggy allows deep penetration, with options for anal or vaginal insertion. Customers can easily imagine what it would feel like to hold the model’s hips and enter her in this position.
While primarily Doggy position is about showing the buttocks and the ‘available’ anus and vulva, secondary features include a solid platform to show the hang, size and shape of a model’s breasts, the flex in her toes if curled beneath her and her hip to waist ratio.
Common errors
The most common error that SPs make when capturing Doggy position is having dark shadows between the model’s buttocks, across her labia and or anus (when shot at OL or higher). This prevents customers from seeing the detail that they most want to see when a model is bent forwards with no underwear on.
Ways to explore Doggy position
1. Model Position
Doggy position is one of the most versatile poses in terms of how much a model can move her body within the position (depending on how flexible she is), while still remaining in the same pose.
Face down ass up
Curved back
Straight arms
Extend a leg
Head down, looking back at the camera
Head down with a leg extension
Low and compact
Standing
2. Utilising different levels
Shooting the same pose with the model (and SP) on different levels will help to explore and highlight different aspects of the position. For example shooting from down low helps emphasise long legs and often places customers in the position a lover would be in if they were about to reach up and have sex with the model.
On the floor
Half on the floor half on the next level up
Transitioning up onto a higher level
On a middle level (sofa, bed etc)
High up – on the back of chairs or sofas, on window ledges etc
3. Consider the Environment
For general guidance on how to approach MMaiA sequences consult SDLP Video only: Model moves and is active for a full length, in a nutshell or nano recap.
Models doing domestic cleaning or sporting activities usually meet the requirements of the Model Moves and is Active (MMaiA) assessment area. But some models are not so sporty, and while we all need to clean sometimes, we don’t want to frame our models as “maids”.
And of course, there are other interesting movement-based activities models can do in shoots!
Non-cleaning, non-sporting activities
While some of these are still cleaning-based, they are not “traditionally” feminine.
- Putting up a shelf / hanging a picture
- For real, with a hammer and a nail, not just taking a picture off it’s hook, and hanging it again
- Pressure-washing the patio (or whatever, really)
- Safety first: the model must wear goggles and proper shoes (but nothing else is ok, so long as she’s careful!)
- Washing the car
- Getting stuff in and out of an attic space
- Gardening
- Mowing the lawn, wheeling a barrow of leaves or weeds or mulch; raking leaves; digging a hole; spreading mulch; trimming back shrubs
- Putting together flat pack furniture
- Or any large item that comes in parts – exercise machines, tools, a bike
- Moving furniture around
Unmotivated activities
Unmotivated activities are things that don’t have a practical goal (like, mowing the lawn, which has a defined finish point).
Crawling is a great example of this – crawling on the floor, under a table, up onto a chair, over to the couch, across to the other sofa, back to the floor. Crawling can easily be two MMaiA sequences (one with some clothes, and one for NDE / OL). Direct the model to move like a cat sometimes, or to exaggerate each move, stretching each limb out, and move slowly. Get shots of the models hanging breasts swaying, but mostly shoot from behind the model, showing her buttocks working.
Keeping a balloon in the air is another – a simple, unmotivated task requiring the model to tap the balloon up and move around as it floats around the room (she may have to assist in this, tapping it in different directions – maybe the challenge is to get it to the end of the room and back, via the sofa and kitchen?). The balloon should be full of air (not helium!), so it tends to fall to the ground.
Walking
Simply walking meets the requirements of MMaiA, and is quite appealing – our customers enjoy seeing a model’s buttocks “work”, in tight pants, fitted dresses, panties, or a skirt (loose pants or full dresses are not so good for this). When the model is clothed, this can be shot outside in public spaces, too! The camera should be at buttocks-level.
Models walking around a home in and out of different rooms in one take (giving a tour of her home) is very appealing – found light suitable for this, so long as the exposure is correct in each room.
With engaged models, walking can also become a spontaneous activity with the model trying different “types” of walking, including;
- She starts simply walking from one side of the room to the other normally and back again.
- She repeats this time placing her feet toe to heal, to see how many of her literal feet the distance is.
- She repeats again this time seeing how few strides she can take by having strides as big as possible
- Next she crawls, or hops from pillow to pillow or does a bear walk, or if she can walks on her hands or cartwheels etc
- She can do a silly walk
- She can do her best catwalk walk
- She can show us her sexy – hey notice me – walk
Each of these should be planned for the widest dimension of the room or a hallway, and be at least 3 metres / 10 feet in distance.
How can the same idea be applied to a model on the stairs? What different activities can a model do that involve (carefully) travelling up and down the stairs in different ways?
Sexiness not Continuity
MMaiA sequences do not need to be one long continuous two-minute activity, breaking it up into smaller clips that video editors can form into a montage is also suitable, especially with more spontaneous and fun ideas, like the Walking example above. MMaiA activities do not need to be motivated.
Consider what five-to-ten movement based things a model might do with these props or set pieces to create an appealing two minute MMaiA sequence once edited together:
Tea-towel
- Collecting it
- Climbing up high on a chair onto a table to flick tea towel about to get spider webs
- Holding it tight above her head while doing stretches (standing side bends – squats etc)
- Placing one foot in the tea towel and holding both ends to do leg stretches and raises
- Using it to clean the floor with her foot
- Spinning a pair (one in each hand) while doing a cheerleading cheer
- Putting it in the washing machine / laundry basket when finished
Apply the above approach to these household items, each one becoming a MMaiA segment for a shoot.
- Stairs
- Tennis ball
- Umbrella
- Skipping rope
- Arm chair
- Kitchen chair
- Ladders
Pairing two MMaiA ideas within the same space
Most MMaiA ideas, while interesting, will not be interesting for two edited minutes. Pairing two MMaiA ideas within the same setting is a smart way to ensure edited movement sequences are long enough.
Eg – model making a bed paired with a model jumping on the bed. Both good activities, neither obviously interesting for two minutes (without a lot of effort), but in combination likely to make a solid two minute sequence. A model could even add a third thing, and demonstrate some of her favourite sex positions on the bed – using a pillow as her partner, humping and showing exaggerated hip movement.
A model jumping over the water hose and playing with the water, paired with the same model using the hose to water the garden and then rolling up the hose and putting everything away.
Solo shoots are made of many small video clips. While the content of the clip is is what customer see, the approach used for recording each clip also affects the final result. The process should be as follows;
Process for starting to record a video clip
This process should be used for every video clip captured.
- Direct the model, as necessary
- Check light is excellent, make adjustments as necessary
- Set appropriate exposure
- Get camera position, get comfortable to hold the shot steady
- Consider what camera movement is necessary, and practising it so it’s smooth
- Focus
- Press Record ⏺️
-
Wait three seconds (“pre roll”)
- Double check exposure and focus
- Visualise recording indicator
- Count the seconds (in your head)
- Call “Action”
The three seconds is called “pre-roll” and allows time for the camera to start recording smoothly, and ensure the first part of the model talking / doing the action is not cut off.
Process for ending recording of a video clip
- Call a “Stop” for the model to stop her action
-
Wait three seconds (“Post roll”)
- Count the seconds (in your head)
- Stop recording ⏹️
- If there is a separate camera person, call “Cut!”
It’s also fine to just keep recording if the next clip will start in the next 20 seconds or so.
There is only a finite number of suitable model first names that models of our age and their culture typically have – abbywinters.com has been producing content long enough to need to reuse model first names to remain somewhat naturalistic.
When a model is assigned a first name that already exists, they are also assigned a surname initial. For example;
- Rebecca
- Rebecca L
In the above example, the “L” is the surname initial – these are two different models on abbywinters.com.
Model names must be unique so both customers and we can differentiate between them reliably.
Models must never mention their surname initial in their video appearances (when introducing ourselves in real life we don’t include surname initials, so it comes across as unnatural when models do it in AW videos – being naturalistic is part of the paradigm).
✅ “Hey, I’m Rebecca from Wyoming! 👋I’m studying biodiversity…”
❌ “Hey, I’m Rebecca L from Wyoming! 👋I’m studying biodiversity…”
This principle also applies on multi-model shoots.
✅ “Hey, I’m Jane – I’m making a shoot today with Rebecca.”
❌ “Hey, I’m Jane – I’m making a shoot today with Rebecca L.”
The only exception to this is in the unlikely event we are making a shoot of two or more models, and two models have the same first name on the same shoot (this has never happened in over two decades of making shoots, but it may one day). In that case, it is appropriate for both models to mention their surname initials when making introductions on video.
Overview
The Solo assessment area, Adopt a Tease-Payoff approach improves customer satisfaction. We achieve this by building up and capturing key events (“Firsts”) as the “Tease”, then showing customers revealing details (the “Payoff”).
This assessment area follows the Managing emotion over time principles.
What are “Firsts”?
“Firsts” is the shorthand word we use to mean “the imagery from the first time anatomy or clothing is fully revealed to the customer”. For example;
A model is wearing a t-shirt with no bra (a Tease). She takes her t-shirt off, and stands up – customers can now see her breasts with nothing in the way (the Payoff).
In this theoretical shoot, this is the first time customers have been able to see her breasts clearly.
That’s a “First”.
There is a finite list of Firsts;
- Bra
- Nipples
- Breasts
- Panties
- Pubic region
- Labia (OL+)
- Anus (OL+)
- Clitoris (EXP+) (from Aug 1 2023)
This is listed in a typical shoot-order, but there’s no requirement for the same order to be followed between shoots. The list changes occasionally – SPs will always be notified.
The model’s selected Posing Level affects the last few items, as indicated – for example, it’s never appropriate to capture;
- An anus First for a model doing the Nude Posing Level (only Open Leg, Explicit and Insertions)
- The clitoris First for a model doing the Open Leg Posing Level (one Explicit and Insertions)
What “Tease” means in this context
“Tease” means to hint at something. For example; with nipple Tease an SP might direct the model to;
✅ Verbally describe her unique nipples while clothed
(Layering with the “Conversation” assessment area) 👍
✅ Wear a tight top with no bra, revealing the outline of their nipples
(Layering with the “Clothing used effectively” assessment area) 👍
✅ Pinch her nipples through clothing to make them visibly harden
(Layering with “Clothing used effectively” assessment area) 👍
✅ Manipulate clothing on her body so that part of the areola is visible
(again Layering “Clothing used effectively” assessment area) 👍
Layering other assessment areas should often be used with Tease.
Successful teasing slowly reveals clues about the First, building up the desire for the customer to see that First in full. In general, the greater the anticipation to see the First, the greater the satisfaction the customer will derive from the Payoff…
Teasing of a First may begin long before the intended reveal, slowly building up over time. However, teasing must resume immediately before a First is revealed, so customers are focused and thinking about that First at the point it is shown to them. If this is not done all the anticipation built up by earlier tease can lose its impact.
There is also a danger of Teases being carried on for too long! Consider this analogy;
You’re the annoying older sister. Your grandma gave you $€£50 to give to your younger sister as a birthday gift.
As she’s leaving to go to the pub with friends, you dangle the money in front of her. As she tries to grab the money, you pull it away. You both laugh. 🤣
You do it six more times. You’re getting bored 🥱 and your sister is getting pissed off. 🤬
Don’t annoy customers (they complain about this exact thing, then cancel their subscription). Tease, then pay off, then repeat the cycle revealing more and more of the model.
What “Payoff” means in this context
Payoff is the moment when the customer finally gets to clearly see the Teased “First” in full, with nothing in the way. Payoffs have two elements;
- The actual reveal moment when all is exposed, closely followed by…
- The in-depth exploration of the newly-exposed anatomy or clothing.
The reveal moment of the First
When and how a First is “Paid-off” affects the impact of the reveal. For example;
A nipple reveal will have limited impact if it takes place just after an extensive panties Tease sequence.
At that moment, the customer desires a full view of her panties – not her nipple!
Extending our older-sister analogy…
As she’s getting ready to go out for her birthday celebration, you tell your younger sister that you have a $€£50 gift for her, from your grandma.
You see your sister getting excited (perhaps more excited than if you had just left the money in an envelope on the kitchen table?).
You say you will go get the money to give to her, but then your boyfriend calls to talk about a surprise vacation trip, and you head out for the weekend with him. You don’t give the money to your sister until a week later when you see her again.
Your sister is glad to have the money in the end, but she’s frustrated you Teased her, then delayed the pay off! The nice feeling of anticipation was un-done by a tease that was poorly executed and lasted too long.
Don’t annoy customers by over-delaying the Payoff!
A Payoff that happens too-quickly will have a limited impact on the customer. Drawing out the moment appropriately maximises the emotional impact of the reveal.
Exploration in depth of the newly exposed First
Once a First has been revealed, the critical aspect of the Payoff is showing the customer the details that were hinted at during the Tease. The first reveal is the start of the Payoff – not the entire Payoff!
A customer who has heard a model talk about her unique nipple while clothed will want to see this unique detail, in detail.
Continuing our big-sister analogy;
After a quick “denial” game, you give your sister the $€£50.
But right before she leaves for the pub, you snatch the money back, reminding her that actually, she owes you $€£50 from last month!
It’s true, she really does owe you that money, but you’re being a dick 🍆 to claim it like that.
Let customers enjoy the moment, enjoy “spending the money” they have (literally) paid, giving them time to enjoy the experience. That’s what the Payoff is.
(Remember that to us, nude women can seem “ho-hum”, just another boring day at work… but for a customer this is the first time they have ever seen this young woman, and they want to enjoy every moment, as if they were undressing each other slowly in real life).
Assessment requirements
When creating Solo shoots at Level 1, 2 and 3, the Tease-Payoff assessment requires;
- Every First must be Teased before being paid-off;
- Every First must be treated separately, with individual reveal sequences
- Customers must be focused back onto a First immediately before it is seen for the first time (tease).
Teasing: Building anticipation by “drawing out”
Our Emotion Over Time approach dictates that a Tease should start small, then crescendo with the thorough reveal of the First.
Layering other assessment areas with the Tease and Payoff assessment area is always appropriate. This gives the SP tools to focus the customer on each First, and makes the shoot day be completed in a reasonable timeframe.
(1) The outline of the erect nipple is visible through clothing, talking about other stuff.
(2) The model adjusts her top, drawing the eye to the erect nipple.
(3) The model rests her glasses on the neckline of her top, causing it to lower showing more cleavage (closer to the nipple).
(4) The model talks about her nipple shape and sensitivity, while touching it over her clothing.
(5) The model deliberately pulls down on her glasses, exposing more cleavage – we can almost see her areola now…
(6) The model pinches her nipples through her clothing, and describes how she likes them touched.
(7) The model wets her top, revealing more of the shape of the nipples.
(8) The nipple is revealed. The shoot continues.
No two shoots should have the same Tease for each First – this is an extensive example, and not every First needs 8 teasing steps (but some in each shoot should). Overall, each First Tease and Payoff should take around three minutes of screen time, and perhaps five minutes to shoot.
The structure in which other assessment areas can be Layered with Tease, can be repeated every time. There are a few ways we can draw out the Tease…
Using Clothing to “engineer” Tease
Subtle clothing Tease
Subtle Teases can be found by directing models to adjust their clothing in ways that appear accidental but are in fact specifically designed to catch the customer’s attention. We call this engineering. In the above image of Kristal, her pose appears natural and the glimpse of her panties seems to be a genuine “accident” (note the engaging curl of her toes!). In fact, it was very carefully planned by the Shoot Producer! 👍
The main clothing-use techniques for subtle Teases are:
- Upskirt
- Downblouse
- Cameltoe
Clothing selection can also create Tease opportunities. Some examples include;
- Tops worn with no bras
- Skirts or dresses worn with no panties
- Light fabrics that lifts and gape during MMaiA
- Transparent fabrics (sheer; lace; thin; worn) on tops, bottoms, panties, bras
- Contrasting colours/patterns that draw attention to different clothing items.
“Less is more” when exploring these approaches. A heavy handed Tease equates to no Tease. For further details on the less-is-more principle of clothing use, see the excellent Upskirt and Downblouse pages in Fetish Finder.
Obvious clothing Tease
As a Tease progresses, the SP plays with customers’ expectations of being Teased as well as their tacit understanding of the deliberate effort to Tease them. At this stage, Clothing Use no longer needs to appear accidental, instead becoming a tool to explore details of a First from which the customer will crave a Payoff.
Some tools include;
- Wearing clothing items backwards
- Wearing clothing items on the “wrong” part of the body
- Stretch clothing (while worn) to the extreme
- Twisting and ripping clothing
- Wetting garments, so they become see-through
- Exploiting holes, gaps and fastenings in clothing
- Wearing clothes without underwear or a bra
Using Props to engineer Tease
The same Tease principles which apply to clothing also apply to props, with a caution that unnatural prop use can go against the paradigm.
❌ A model with playing cards stuck to her nipples to obscure them from view ahead of a reveal, is a step too far into the obscure. Not a good fit for the all natural, casual-at-home paradigm, too “contrived”.
✅ A model playing cards while naked hides her nipples with some cards while playfully winking at the camera is appropriate.
Tease and Payoff both need drama and some ceremony but should never cross over into cheesy stage-magician territory. 🎩 🐇
The dangers of prop use working against the paradigm is explained in the Actively use suitable props SDLP.
Using Conversation to engineer Tease
During the build-up to a First, if a model makes verbal references to the impending and Teased First it greatly increases the customer’s craving to see the Payoff. The SP asks questions intended to reveal the most appealing and unique features of each First, always keeping in mind the Payoff possibilities.
❌ A model in an OL Posing Level Solo shoot shouldn’t talk about loving anal penetration as part of anus Tease, as this can’t be paid off. That would be frustrating for customers.
✅ A model in an INS Posing Level Solo who will do anal penetration on camera, indeed should talk about her love of anal stimulation as part of anal Tease (and in fact, she could do this quite early in the shoot!).
Conversational Tease can be:
-
Direct
- That is, a physical description of the First
- eg “My nipples are pretty unusual because of how long they are”
- (this could be mentioned well before the actual nipple reveal, and without touching her nipples)
-
Incidental
- That is, an element within a wider story
- eg “The best foreplay I ever had was in high school with a boy from my French class. He had massive hands which he would put up my top so he could pinch my nipples and it made me weak at the knees”
Using MMaiA to engineer Tease
MMaiA activities can be engineered to help with Tease-Payoff moments, often while also Layering with other assessment areas, for example;
- Everyday and Fitness activities (which often involve props) can be used to create upskirt and downblouse Teases. They can also help clothing to “accidentally” fall or lift.
-
Repetitive movements that slowly open then close is an excellent Tease
- Consider: a model opening and closing her legs while in form-fitting underwear – opportunities for tantalising labia Tease (also excellent No Nude, Pushing It content!).
- Breasts are a great First because of their unique movements. Any action that causes a model’s breasts to move creates a desire for the customer to see the model’s naked breasts (as motion can hint at breast size and pertness.)
Use framing to engineer Tease
Framing decisions taken by the SP will directly influence which element/s the customer focuses on. When teasing, the SP ensures focus is fully on a First at the time it is being Teased, so subtle details are not missed in the capture (ie, there’s nothing “in the way”, as customers say). CUs and XCUs can be used to maximise Tease by showing every clue in a lot of detail 🔬.
Capture thorough Payoffs
Without a thorough Payoff, there is limited value in a Tease. The Tease is a build up of excited energy; that energy can be wasted (and therefore have little impact)… or can be harnessed to create a strong reaction in customers.Payoffs are most impactful when captured thoroughly. This means, actions should be:
- Slow – really s l o w
- Deliberate
- Controlled
- With nothing in the way
SPs can utilise repetitions of actions (for example, a model slowly squeezing her breasts over and over) for greater impact. This can create a mesmerising and alluring effect which is most impactful in cycles of three or more. Customers want to touch models breasts, but they cannot… so the model touching her own breasts is a good second option! Don’t rush it.
Props and clothing are tools that can be utilised to help with Payoffs just as extensively as they are to generate Tease.
The Solo shoot assessment area “Sexiness not continuity” means an SP could be tempted to skip
the thorough capture – but no, the Payoff is the sexiness!
For example, when shooting Stills;
❌ The SP captures an image of the model wearing a bra (teasing the breasts First), then captures an image of the model not wearing a bra, showing her breasts. Then the SP moves on with panties removal.
✅ The SP adopts a more thorough approach, capturing the First thoroughly;
- Show the method of the reveal (Model pulls her bra tight to her body while pulling upwards, so the breasts are stretched up before dropping down and out of the bra one by one 🥥…🥥
- Show the breasts falling from the bra, showcasing their size, weight and bounce
- Capture the Both breasts Must Have
- Capture the Single Breast in Profile Must Have
- Capture a profile shot of the model’s head and breasts
-
Direct the model to do some playful actions with her breasts, while looking at the camera
- Squeeze both hard into her chest
- Emulate the support her bra provides, with her hands
- Pinch both nipples
- Weigh one breast, winking at the camera
- Cross her arms under her breasts
Firsts shouldn’t “quietly sneak into view through a backdoor”, they should throw open the front door loudly, halting all other conversation and the piano – like the hero in a Western film entering the bar. 🤠
Good Payoffs have a “Wow! Look at this!” theatrical quality to them. Like a good showman, payoffs “milk the moment” by being thoroughly teased, revealed and explored.
Payoff: Thoroughly exploring Firsts once they are revealed
A good Tease causes the customer to wonder and become increasingly curious. A good Payoff answers their questions.
This is one reason why there must be a separate reveal sequence for every First – the customer shouldn’t have to wait to learn about a nipple while a breast is revealed. The longer the delay between a Tease and its Payoff, the smaller the impact; the greater the risk the customer’s attention may have wandered (perhaps even to a different website!).
Must Haves and Payoffs
Several Firsts have corresponding Must Haves. Capturing those Must Haves as soon as the First is exposed helps showcase details in full without delay.
For example, the panties Must Haves are:
- Bum in panties CU
- In panties wide
- Front panties
- Front panties XCU
The above Must Haves are most impactful just after the panties have been exposed for the first time, allowing customers to fully appreciate the newly revealed details. Shooting them some time later (or at the end of the shoot, because that’s when the SP remembers) reduces the impact of those Must Haves.
Shooting associated Must Haves as part of a First Payoff also helps with SP organisation, making it more likely to remember to include said Must Haves!
In the editing process, images and footage can be moved around, but the continuity always mismatches in jarring ways. While our policy is “Fuck continuity!”, we should not go out of our way to make jarring or disjoined content, unless it is directly benefiting customers.
Camera positions, lens length and Payoffs
The SP approaches the Payoff for Firsts with a similar approach as exploring the highest Posing Level in depth across their eight unique poses.
SPs make use of different camera angles (positions) and lens lengths to further Tease and Payoff Firsts.
Common mistakes
-
Inconsistency
- Each defined First should be teased and paid-off as described above
- Capturing only five Firsts well out of the seven does not meet requirements
-
Teases with “late” reveals
- It is not ok to Tease Firsts earlier in the shoot but not refocusing customers back to that First with additional tease in the moments immediately before the pay-off.
-
Revealing multiple Firsts in the one moment
- Each First is worthy of its own special, separate moment
-
Firsts revealed, but not explored immediately
- Most commonly the nipple will be revealed but not shown in depth until after both breasts have been revealed.
There is no single “correct” way to Tease and Payoff each First – and if everything was the same in every shoot, customers would stop subscribing due to lack of variety! However, there are principles that can be applied to every shoot, outlined in the FAQ What is required in assessment area adopt a Tease Payoff, Tease Payoff approach?.
Examples below outline a basic approach for Teasing and Paying-off each First. As SPs become more familiar with the Tease & Payoff principles, they are expected (via the Levels system) to be creative in their approach to Firsts, taking into account the model’s personality and physicality, the Setting and the Posing Level.
All examples have been edited to show the techniques being used. Within the Solos themselves sequences are longer, especially for video, when Layering with Conversation has occurred. Some of the examples have been edited or presented as if they appeared earlier in the set than they actually do, to demonstrate a correct approach to Tease Payoff.
The best Firsts are revealed naturalistically, the model flirting with the customer.
Good example of Tease, Payoff, First: Bra
Stills
✅ ABOVE: Ivi’s bra is Teased then Paid-off very well across a sequence of images.
✅ Bra Tease is aided by contrast, the bra colour is quite different to the top it is worn under and her skin colour, making “flashes” easier to spot.
✅ Selecting a cropped top with light “floaty” fabric enables the SP to engineer flashes of the bra, with the top “accidentally” riding up.
✅ The Payoff is drawn out by directing the model to slow down her actions, making them more deliberate.
✅ Must Have “both breasts in bra CU” is immediately captured, ensuring the customer gets full details of the bra once visible making for a satisfying Payoff.
This bra is ill-fitting on this model. While it would be better if it fit well, it’s not a major problem (and it being see-through is a good Tease for the nipple First!).
Good example of Tease & Payoff First: Nipple
As nipples sit on top of a model’s breast, breast Tease invariably happens throughout the nipple Tease sequences. But that should not replace breast-specific Tease (nor can breast Tease replace nipple-specific Tease).
Each body part needs at least one sequence where Tease is focusing just on them (for example, hard nipples pinched through clothing, or downblouse cleavage Tease). It is never an issue for the Tease of one First to also be teasing another “linked” First – common friends include bra, nipples and breast; Panties and Pubic region; Labia and anus.
✅ ABOVE: Freja using Clothing to aid nipple Tease Payoff.
✅ A thin top with no bra is always going to engineer good Tease of whatever is below
✅ Clothing Use as top tied into a crop top and eased upwards.
✅ Well engineered areola flashes as Tease progresses.
✅ The model’s hands over her breasts not only delay the nipple reveal but also reveal appealing aspects about the size and shape of her breasts.
✅ Simple but effective use of the models arms to separate the nipple reveal from both breasts reveal.
✅ Sunlight highlight on her nipple
❌ Nipple XCU Must Have should always be included as part of nipple Payoff as it allows customers a detailed view (the Must Have shown here does not meet requirements – the camera is too far away, and the light is not contrasty enough – more info.
Good example of Tease Payoff First: Breasts
It is likely that some of the bra and nipple Tease elements will “double up” to also Tease breasts at the same time. This is fine, so long as there is also specific breast Tease once the nipple has been paid-off.
Stills
✅ ABOVE: An excellent breast Tease and Payoff sequence. Not every breast Tease / Payoff sequence needs to be as extensive as this one with Chelsea K, but when a model has appealing breasts more time should be spent on the Tease and Payoff to satisfy customers.
✅ Wearing the bra without the straps is a deliberate act, an indication that the bra will soon be removed.
💡 Bras worn without straps work particularly well with larger breasts as there is more “mass” to balance the bra, thus creating more “jeopardy”: will the bra stay in place? Will it slip off?! ⚖️
✅ The transparency of the bra fabric exposes different parts of the breast as it is spun around her body.
✅ Pulling the bra straps to meet in the middle deepens the cleavage, emphasising the size of the breast and hinting at the texture and bounce.
✅ The model “heaving”’ her breast slowly from the top of the bra indicates mass.
✅ The bra sitting under the breasts and lifting up hints at their size and weight.
✅ The model cupping her bare breasts with her hands gives an indication of size but also allows the customer a tactile sense of what it would feel like to do so themselves.
✅ The model posing with her removed bra creates a clear reveal moment.
✅ Covering all breast-related Must Haves as part of the Payoff ensures basic breast details are immediately shown.
✅ Thorough breast exploration intensifies the Payoff with the model demonstrating how her naked breasts react when squashed, and while hanging.
Good example of Tease Payoff First: Panties
Stills
✅ ABOVE: Excellent panties Tease and Payoff. Claudia V was directed to turn around as she undresses, kind of like Dressing Room in reverse. Thoroughly exploring Payoffs like this ensures the customer sees all the details!
✅ Openings on the shorts are exploited to “flash” the panties while still fully covered by outerwear. Smart clothing colour selection helps the small flash of the First stand out.
✅ Simple Tease can be effective. The model opening her shorts creates a desire within the customer to see what is inside / underneath them.
✅ The Payoff is slowly explored by the SP directing the model to remove the shorts slowly.
✅ There’s a good amount of labia Tease in the CU mages – overlapping Teases is always encouraged
✅ The Payoff is made more satisfying with the inclusion of the panties Must Haves. The customer gets all details of the newly exposed First immediately.
✅ The model kicking the shorts off her ankle is a flourish that makes the reveal feel special: a ‘hey look at this’ moment.
✅ Subsequently, shots that let the customer appreciate the model in her panties
Good example of Tease, Payoff, First: Pubic region
It is likely that Tease for Firsts, pubic region, labia and anus will have some crossover. This is fine, so long as at the point of Payoff the customer has been focused on just the specific First being paid-off.
Stills
✅ ABOVE: Good pubic Region tease. Selvaggia Teases and exposes her labia before the pubic region is Teased, inevitably flashing parts of the pubic region in the process. This is fine. This model is up for the Explicit Posing Level, so incorporating some EXP is appropriate.
✅ The model’s hand over the pubic region, through, and then inside her panties focuses the customer on the pubic region while encouraging them to imagine placing a hand inside the model’s panties.
✅ Stretching the panty fabric (while worn) away from the model’s body engineers pubic region flashes well.
✅ The model removes her panties very slowly and deliberately, drawing out the Payoff.
✅ Revealing the pubic region while the panties are still worn adds movement to the still image – the panties are visibly being pulled down and off. This sense of movement adds pace and energy.
Good example of Tease Payoff First: Labia
Stills
✅ ABOVE: Mirja using her panties to add a sense of movement to the point of the reveal. The panties ‘sticking’ to her labia is visceral.
✅ Clothing selection ensures labia Tease begins as soon as the panties are revealed, the mesh fabric allowing glimpses of what’s inside.
💡 Incidental labia flashes through lace is good, but this can be intensified by getting models to manipulate panties to press the mesh directly against the labia for maximum Tease.
✅ Pulling the panties into a thin strip that just covers the labia hints at labia shape and size.
✅ The anus reveal contains labia Tease with partial exposure. A good pairing, but still separate.
✅ Slowly peeling back the panties builds maximum anticipation for the customer across the sequence.
Good example of Tease Payoff First: Anus
Stills
✅ ABOVE: Josie L uses her panties to help keep labia and anus Payoffs separate.
✅ The selection of a thong makes anal Tease easy to engineer as the fabric barely covers the anus. The SP exploits this by placing the model in poses where her buttocks are pushed out and back, maximising Tease.
✅ Peeling the panties to the side to flash the anus frames the area, guiding the customer’s focus.
